Opetaia wastes Benavidez in similar fashion to how he wasted Jack Massey. Too big, too mobile, too fast, too skilled and way more powerful. Then there's Opetaia's next level toughness. I don't Jose Benavidez would be ****** enough to let his son anywhere near Opetaia. Zurdo's a different story, he may have a chance there.

I get the feeling Benny fears he may lose to Morrell, hence he’s crafting an exit strategy. Surely if you beat Morrell, you’d get the Beterbiev / Bivol winner, no?

He would have an easier time with Zurdo, sure. I think he realizes that and may be looking for a way out of his current trajectory or even use “I’m too big” for LHW as an excuse.

Just beat Morrell and put some shame on Ginger’s name.

Benavidez is not a "natural" 168-er.

All y'all's comments might be right.
I say put him in with Opetaia, Zurdo, Bivol, and Beterbiev too, and let's see who falls and who doesn't.
Don't care if Benavidez wins or loses, I just wanna see him take on the biggest challenge regardless of weight class.

Benny is chasing the easy link which in this case is Zurdo
Imo he should focus on Morrell who will be his toughest test to date

              War Morrell

I believe David Morrell is going to beat David Benavidez. He's over confident in this fight coming up. David Benavidez thinks David Morrell is all talk, but it's a reason why nobody was in a hurry to fight him. Including himself! This is going to be a great fight! I've been waiting for it a while now. Everybody is going to see just what David Morrell is all about! Some people are going to be shocked and surprised!

Benavidez hasn't looked great at 175 yet so there no reason to believe he'll move up to 200 anytime soon, I think he already knows how tough Bivol/Beter matchups are so he might think Zurdo could be an easier fight but even if thats the case ,still needs to beat Morrell first and foremost and lot folks predicting Benny could take an L next.

I seriously doubting Benny chances to cut down back to 168 w/out looking like fkn Skeletor.

Tim Bradley is not one of the world's most respected authorities on the sport. Sorry - he isn't
