Comments Thread For: Daily Bread Mailbag: Mike Tyson returning at 58 years old; Who wins the Matchroom v Golden Boy 5 vs 5?

It's that time of the week, folks. In this week's mailbag, Stephen 'Breadman' Edwards casts his eyes over questions about Mike Tyson, father and son boxing teams, Salvador Sanchez vs Eusebio Pedroza and many more.

I think that Jake Paul is bad enough that him beating Tyson isn't a foregone conclusion despite the age factor. Tyson still hits hard enough to hurt him with that downstairs/ upstairs left hook combo. I'm going to watch it because I watch all of the fights but I'm not kidding myself that it's anything more than a circus contest between two really limited guys.

Why can't fools let Salvador Sanchez rest in peace ? Coming up with a fictional duck of Pedroza has got to be a new low.Get a life hater and leave Sal's name out of your mouth.

"The UK has a great fight scene. Why do you think it is that they rarely produce great or hall of fame level fighters despite having the best fight scene in the world?"

Lloyd Honeyghan, Chris Eubank, Nigel Benn, Johnny Nelson, Lennox Lewis, Naseem Hamed, Joe Calzaghe, Carl Froch, Ricky Hatton, Kell Brook, David Haye, Tyson Fury, Nicola Adams, Natasha Jonas, Josh Taylor...

I remember watching Tyson's fights (after Buster Douglas) and always, always before every fight we were all clinging to the notion of "what if Tyson lands one of his famous punches on the chin" of his opponents. I had a smirk on my face when I read Breadman post the same thing at the start of this article. That was always the hope that all his fights were sold on even when we all knew he was done.

My feeling is... Tyson has made this compelling by really preparing, at least this is what we are led to believe. I see two paths as highly probable here: Paul made an agreement with Tyson to not hurt anybody... They will basically spar, and Paul will be the predetermined winner. If the fight is legit? I actually think Tyson will KO Paul. Two minute rounds are a plus, bigger gloves won't really matter much if Mike catches him. Paul will be in over his head when Mike catches him.

I hink the fight is probably fixed, but if not I see Mike winning. IF Paul actually does something real to Tyson? I will gladly eat humble pie... But if it is an obvious spar... And the Paul brothers? they are not very smart but I do not think they take chances, especially given their immense egos. I find it hard to believe Paul would take a chance fighting an unrestrained Tyson, at any age...

I would also not be suprised if the fight is cancelled at the last minute and a last minute is put in instead of ticket refunds lol...

I have no respect for PUNK ASS ***** Paul who declared he wanted to be respected as a fighter, only to pull this BS circus act against a grandfather of all things!

Me too! The only problem is that he put on weight and he had proven that there was no benefit to him putting on weight whatsoever. It slowed him down and made him less vicious. Others have posted other positions, but I believe that it was largely weight based. Now look at him. He looks 240 and that is far too much for him.

One thing I can speak with intimate knowledge is this - as you get older it is SO much more difficult to slim down and be in great shape. At 50 you have to work twice as hard as when you are 30 and when you are 60, forget about it. Being in any kind of shape is a small miracle. So I am not sure that Mike is putting the weight on purpose - he probably just cannot get it off.
