Whose taking over when Canelo Retires?

This may have been talked about before, but it is getting closer and I don't think there has been a definitive fighter that is consistent and brings the audience to watch at a global level, the same way Mayweather and Pacquiao did before him. Ryan Garcia? Inconsistent and a mental basket case. Tank Davis? I don't think he's hit a global level similar to Canelo. Plus, whoever this person is, they need to at minimum fight twice a year. A lot of these new guys want 1 per year and you can't keep folks interested with that low activity rate. Inoue? Awesome fighter, but I don't see him making it big with the casuals. Crawford? The dude sidelined himself for over a year following the biggest win in his career. He's 37, about to have a gets old overnight moment and be out.

Japanese but fighting out of the US and trained by a Mexican-American. So Junto is Western Hemispheric. Westerners have an edge when it comes to stardom

Well, if you’re talking his style and power. I cant say. Outside of that I see Keyshawn Davis, Shakur, Abdulla Mason. Also the ****** Russians are very disciplined and strong.

I don't know if Junto is global superstar quality. First, he needs to fight in the US often. I probably should have mentioned that originally. Second, adding English can help make him reach more fans. I'm not sure if he does speak it already or not, but at least Pac did that immediately and Canelo has damn near perfect English at this point. Even Cotto did his best and that helped him earn a lot of fans.

Let's not forget though, sometimes the lighter weight classes don't get picked up as easy with the fans globally unless there's a catch. Pacquiao came up during a time when there were huge stars in the lighter weights with Barrera, Morales, Hamed who made tons of noise around that time. It helped Pacquiao who again, worked his English and fought all the folks at those lighter weight classes to get his name going. Then he hit the cash cows like ODLH when he went up in weight.

Crawford also wasn't as big until he went up to WW and finally got his career defining breakout to the masses fight, but probably too late.

Honestly, if Ryan Garcia had Oscar Dela Hoya's work ethics and mental strength, he should have been the next after Canelo. Right age, looks and personality. Though he mostly blew it.

jesse rodriguez deserves it. he is young (24 is young, 30 is not). he has the best style. his resume is almost hof worthy. there are big challenges near his division (junto, naoya). usa, mexico and tv/stream stations would support him. ryan, shakur and tank are nobodies compared to jesse.
