Comments Thread For: Regis Prograis indicates he might yet continue on as a professional boxer

Regis Prograis has indicated he might yet carry on with his professional boxing career. After his decision loss to Jack Catterall in Manchester, England, on Saturday, the former two-time world champion from New Orleans indicated that his future might lie elsewhere and suggested he might head to the bareknuckle circuit.

Still fights out there for him, Matias maybe and I could see someone like teofimo picking him as an opponent. But tbh I think he's gonna have a couple more maybe go to 147 because I think he's dead at the weight because he's saying that he struggles to go 12 rounds and he's fading in fights.

Prograis would be a killer in BKFC.

He needs someone in front of him to get his shots off. He fought two slick boxers and at his age, he can't catch up to them or time them often. Just needs the right dance partner, matchup of styles.

Catterall is clearly a better fighter than Devin. What tools does Haney really have? Let's be serious.

Prograis never moved up to 147 because Bud was there. He and Taylor both flapped their gums about moving up to 147, but never busted a move.

He's probably going to continue his boxing career, and give a decent account of himself in the ring.
That said make no mistake about it, he's also going to be racking up some more losses along the way.
If he goes in against Matias, he's going to get stopped, and the critic's will say that he was a shot fighter when they finally fought.

What would you do if he becomes a gatekeeper for pbc instead of Hearns? Would your crybaby ass throw the same stones?

I never really thought he would retire. He fought well. But I think he has a tough decision to make about continuing. If he moves up, he could get KO'd at his age. If he stays, he could drain himself. Not sure how I would advise him if he asked.

I seen trout fight in that league. He's levels above the rest. I think most of these mid teir boxers should take that route if they don't mind getting paid peanuts to what they used to make.

That was a crazy opinion with nothing backing it. Yes Jack was robbed in the first Taylor fight but that was the beginning of the decline of Taylor. Devin is a pretty good pure boxer that lost to someone over weight and on drugs. Styles make fights I think Devin can outbox Jack for 12 rounds easy.
