For all the many macro debates to be had about what the International Boxing Hall of Fame is and should be, at this time of year, the focus shifts to the micro debates.

Jose Luis Castillo should have been voted in a long time ago.
Casamayor not so sure, although was a quality fighter in his day.
Great times they were, the early 00's.
Raskin does a good job here of analyzing each fighters’ hall-of-fame-worthiness. His stated case against Castillo is something to be considered, but all three of us agree that Casa’s entry is debatable. Then again, considering the direction the IBHOF has taken, perhaps “El Cepillo” has a stronger case than we’re giving him credit for. Canastosa is a far cry from Cooperstown and the baseball HOF, where induction is truly reserved for the very best that ever did it.

I think if you're of the opinion he beat Mayweather then it's a no brainer.
Without that then debatable. But for me Castillo is the best LHW of that early 00's era. Has to be HOF for me.
On top being one half of possibly the best fight I ever saw in my life.

I don’t think he beat Floyd. Lol But in this HOF, at least, Castillo’s not a tough pick. As a baseball player, though, he never would’ve made it. Haha And yeah, that scorcher with Chico is certainly on the short list of greatest fights ever. Without a doubt a fantastic era for that weight class.

I don't think he did either but I just mean if someone were to, then it's a shoe in with the resume he has on top of beating Mayweather.
