Seeing all the inactive fighters who fight sporadically makes some people falsely think that two fights later is equivalent to end of 2025 or first half of 2026. I mean, April 2025 is very likely earlier than Beterbiev/Bivol's next fight for example purposes.

It's Bob and Eddie who are trying to push the Bivol-Beterbiev rematch back as far as possible. After MJ sees what Monster does to Goodman, he'll be sorry he ran his mouth. And Sam Goodman is a very good fighter.

MJ should fight Casimero. a fight of Inoue chasers. with the winner facing inoue on april in vegas/usa (since casimero is still banned in japan). and then inoue vs nakatani and then move to feather

Casimero came in totally overweight to fight an 118 contender Saul Sanchez last week. By the time he even finds a new promoter it will be past April.

That being said MJ really should just get a total stay busy tomato can for early December, still would be better than going into April 16 month out of the ring.

Even if not for the rematch its not a sure thing either of them would've fought before April, so not that different. The rematch just makes something late even later, though the October statement by Arum was infuriating.

In fact given his inactivity he should set up a super easy stay busy fight before the year ends if anything, but seems like he doesn't intend to at this rate. Not Inoue or Top Rank's problem that MJ falsely assumed he'd be first in line of mandatories when in reality both Nery and Goodman won their eliminator well before him:
Nery- WBC eliminator February 2023, stay busy on July 2023, Inoue fight on May 2024 (15 month since becoming WBC mandatory, 10 month since last fight)
Goodman- IBF eliminator July 2023, stay busy Oct23, Dec23, Mar24, July24, Inoue fight on December 2024 (17 month since becoming IBF mandatory, 5 month since last fight)
MJ- December 2023, no fights since then. If Inoue fight is April 2025 that is 16 month since becoming a mandatory, which is exactly in order.

The more I look at it, still wondering why he thought he deserved to be first in line before Nery/Goodman.
Given that his last fight against Gonzalez came from a purse bid won by Matchroom for just $120,000, he might be hoping a bout for the vacant belt against the formidable Ramon Cardenas on an undercard in the UK could bring him around $150,000 this time.

Other athletic commissions usually uphold each other's bans. If Casimero is suspended from Japan for a year, Nevada will likely honor that suspension.
