Really? Fury & Wilder rematched 448 days after their initial encounter, then again 595 days later. It's really not that uncommon.

No chance Arum or Biev wants to wait a year or more. Hearn and Turki are on Bivol's side.

The rematch should happen in December or January. Hearn knows that it is the same outcome, but with a smaller margin of error for Bivol this time. Biev knows what to expect and if the fight had gone another round or two Bivol would have been hurt and dropped. Biev will fight more aggressively in a rematch.

        Long wait only helps Bivol.
Yeah I agree with you....I'm just trying to find something good possibly.

And when the American government begins to finance boxing matches with no intention of making a profit, we can tie that into our boxing reporting.

As for your last name, I thought it was French, like their soccer star (and their bourgeoisie selective outrage). The misspelling was a typo.

As for the “intention of “making a profit”, are you also saying when China was (and still) paying gazillions of dollars to foreign soccer players, they do so to make a profit? They did not make a profit. Were they sportswashing?

How about the 2014 World Cup in Brazil? Was it profitable? Nope. It was a colossal loss. Was it sportswashing?

The 2014 World Cup was the most expensive World Cup at the time, costing an estimated $11.6 billion. Brazil spent an estimated $15 billion on building stadiums, transportation, and other infrastructure.

How about the 2022 World Cup in Qatar? They’ve certainly been accused of sportswashing. And no, they did not make a profit then either.

So, why the double standards when it comes to specific nations in the Mid East when the West does the same exact thing if not worse?

              Makes sense financially.

If Beterbiev beats Bivol again, then Bivol's market value plummets; the Canelo rematch never happens, nor can he milk his status as the "true LHW" king according to his fanboys.

That's some BS. When Bivol beats him in the rematch, people will cry that Artur only lost due to age. Have the damn rematch in March on the Joshua ddb card.

The operative part are talks about scheduling a rematch for a whole year later right after the first fight. Fury/Wilder rematch talks were never dated right after their fights for that far in advance, those rematches happened organically over time. But for Arum to talk about a year in advance, never heard of that right after a first fight. I will bet there is no example of a rematch being talked about for a year later unless there was an injury involved. This is a new one.

December or January is to short of a turnaround for two fighters 30+. It's 2024, not 1983.
