Comments Thread For: There's more than local pride at stake in 'Tank' Davis-Lamont Roach Jr. fight, says Roach's father

Lamont Roach Sr., father and coach of WBA junior lightweight Lamont Roach Jr., knows his son faces a significant challenge in his December 14 bout against WBA lightweight champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis at the Toyota Center in Houston, but he believes the moment holds special meaning for both personal and regional reasons.

I believe that Lamont Roach has a lot of pride in himself, and he should be proud of his accomplishment's.
I also believe that Gervonta Davis is going to knock the pride right out of him when they fight.

It's almost unbelieveable that promoters can't find a competitive lightweight out there.

They can find a competitive light weight quite easily, its just hard to find one that the promoter and Tank agree that is low risk enough and is willing to face.

The only good thing about this is that Roach has fought all his life and finally getting a good payday. Wahid can continue his ducking ways. Nothing else new at this point.

One of the most pathetic pppv main events of recent memory. Would not waste a Sat night watching absurd garbage mismatch even it were free to watch.

I like the addition of Fulton v Figueroa 2 to the card as the semi main. Better than the main event imo.

Let’s hope PBC continues to add intriguing fights to this card.

I totally was in an ignore mode for this fight, but wait is that confirmed? If so, that certainly makes my day.
