Benavidez vs Morrell could probably happen at the end of the year.

Well it was rumored that Benavidez would have fought Jesse Hart in the undercard of Fundora vs Spence for November/December which the main event was then moved for next year.

    Benavidez's had written this recently:

"Cooking Up Something Big For Yall In My Next Fight !!! Stay Tuned"

Could perhaps it means he will headline a card at the end of the year instead and plans have changed.

He replied to a friend (or a fan) of his this:

I think it be quite a interesting bout considering both already had a light heavyweight debut, and were both the super Middleweight mandatories. Morrell had also been talking to Jose Benavidez Sr. during the Crawford vs Madrimov event, with clips of both men hinting that they want to make the fight happen.

I just read something on a Cuban boxing page on Facebook that the Benavidez camp has made Morrell an offer — or vice-versa. (Not exactly clear on who made whom the offer.) Fingers crossed that this is true and that it gets accepted!

Thats a big money fight in the FUTURE. Their not going to make that match for pennies on the dollar.

it really is a dumb pointless match up. No money and no belts, 2 top contenders. Since when?

Let's make this happen. No more BS about Morrell not being ready, and no more ducking accusations towards Benavidez.

It would be a big deal in the boxing world if Morrell wins.

If Benavidez wins, no BS about Morrell being a bum/nobody.

This is a good matchup for boxing fans.

Major kudos to both fighters if they go through with it all risk with zero reward.

At 175, I got Benavidez winning.

Both fighters didn't exactly have dominating wins in their last respective fights.
So I don't see this fight not happening soon. Benavidez wins this fight, in my opinion.
That is if Morrell displays the same low output like he did in his last fight.
