Comments Thread For: Manager frustrated over lack of fights for Damoni Cato-Cain

Bruno Escalante, a former professional boxer and current co-owner of Aloha Time Boxing, runs two gyms with trainer Mike Bazzel. The original location is in San Mateo, with a second gym in Pleasant Hill which opened this year. The gyms were the brainchild of Escalante's late manager and friend, Herb Stone, who passed away in 2017.

It seems to be the catch-22 of prospects... no one wants to fight you because you do not have a name that will help the resume if they win, but how do you build a resume without someone willing to fight you? I am sure they can find scrubs willing to take a paycheck, but sparring is the same as padding your record with overweight Dad Bods taking a dive for drinking cash.

He looked solid in defeat on the golden boy card he was on last year and it was an entertaining .
      fight.

Probox should give him a shot and probably would if he & his team actually want a tough match up.

      Best of luck to him.

The manager needs to find a local promoter and invest fights in Cato to continue to build Cato resume. If not the manager needs to reach out to to a top promoter and present Cato as a B-side or put Cato in 50/50 fight.

For Cato's resume to continue to grow, the manager must locate a local promoter and invest in matches. If not, the manager must contact a major promoter and offer Cato a 50/50 fight or pitch him as a B-side.
