Comments Thread For: Turki Alalshikh: It's Canelo or bust with Crawford

Turki Alalshikh said he's delivered an offer to WBA junior-middleweight champion Terence Crawford to fight unbeaten Vergil Ortiz Jr., adding, "I don't think" Crawford will accept it.

I kept telling people Crawford only wants to cash out. Even though I’m sure Turki is giving him great offers, there’s no money that will be like Canelo money and that’s what he wants. Make the biggest bag and sail into the sunset. His fight vs Madrimov was supposed to show he can move up and compete with Canelo but he couldn’t even dominate Madrimov so the Canelo fight is dead. Buds best bet is to ask Turki for large purse and fight David Benavidez. If he wins he will no doubt get the Canelo fight. If he loses, at least he got the big bag he was looking for and can use the same excuse, he was too small.

Don't insult the man you want to do business with. Seems like that's Business 101

Make the offer for Fundora... If he doesn't want that fight, he might as well retire.

I have a different opinion. Sure, Crawford wants Canelo because of the payday but if Canelo doesn't want to fight him, what then? I don't think he will fight Ortiz, as Turki says because that is what Turki wants, not what Bud wants. Ortiz only has an interim belt, so can't imagine that Bud is too excited about winning that. Failing getting Canelo he will go for Fundora and then the winner of the IBF belt. After that he can try Canelo one more time and/or sail into the sunset after he gets undisputed in third weight division.

This is absolutely hilarious. Turk found out real quick that canelo still runs boxing. That little bonus he's paying these guys don't come close to what they'll make fighting canelo. David gonna turn down that bivol-beterbiev winner too. Just wait. At the end of the day canelo is still the face of boxing. And the turk better understand that. He thought he would make canelo bow down but canelo laughed in his face like the wannabe dictator that he is. Better take out that check book and give canelo what he wants turkey boy.

Canelo asked why would he fight Crawford when everyone would point to him beating a smaller fight. So why didn't he say the same thing when he fought Charlo and Amir Khan then? Maybe he got a lot of flack and changed his mind or something else.

Those are 3 big fights, all of which were unavailable with TR. Bud needs to stop being a diva. Those offers can dry up quick.

canelo should back himself easy to beat crawford for big easy money i would have thought, much more than he gets for berlanga and eubank and ryder but he wont & as for benny forget about it, that ship has now sailed looks like, u need to at least be a bit reasonable in demands
