Comments Thread For: The top 10 knockouts of the 21st century

When Angelo Leo detonated a left hook on Luis Alberto "Venado" Lopez's jaw in the 10th round on Saturday night in Albuquerque, it brought a close contest to the most clear-cut conclusion possible -- but made another close contest instantly less clear cut.

Canelo-Khan? Might as well add Danny Garcia-Rod Salsa.

OMG, I'd forgotten some of these, but viewing again was an experience. So brutal - I must be getting old. THOSE are some kayos.

Kosta ko over Zab should be there instead of Canelo v Kahn. That was an extremely significant ko.

          Not as significant:

The Ajagba KO where the dude spins around was nasty.

Also there were two unknowns on a small local card (I will look for it) where this light skin cat with a curl gets ktfo with one punch that was crazy.

So many variables that could factor into one's decision.
The optics of the guy on the receiving end of the punch clearly seems to be a major part of people's choices.
            I get that.
Tazoo making Judah do the Wobbly Waltz - let's call it the "Choreographic Effect" - definitely competitive with a stiffened body like a board hinged at the feet slamming down on the canvas (think Lewis KTFO Rahman and many others).
            They're all good.

I have Pacquiao’s KO of Hatton up there. Several times on the 24/7 Roach noted how Hatton always drops his hands quickly when he wants to try and counter. Pacquiao set it up beautifully and hit with a perfectly timed punch. I was worried for Hatton’s health.

I like the Trinidad KO of Joppy when he fell three times from one punch.

Sharmba Mitchell , you still owe me ten K on that fight.

                  You know Sharmba Mitchell?
I met Joppy once at an indoor amusement park for little kids when mine were really young and he must have had his there, too.
Nice guy, built like a tank. I felt sorry for him when Trinidad did what he did, ouch.
