That’s a fair point. I think with Bud, he didn’t have the kind of fanfare Boots has. Bud fought his way to mainstream stardom while Boots is heralded as the next Floyd or Roy.
Boots is way well known at 27 than Bud was. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons some guys don’t like him.

Boots is not that well-known, and is very similar to Bud @ 135 in that respect! I cringe when I think of the similarities and I hope Boots can do better than Bud! However, Bud signed an extension with Top Rank, when all the Top WWs were at PBC. Arum told him he could get him those fights, and never did! Boots signed with MatchRoom, None of the other WW Champions are with MatchRoom! None of the Champions at 154 are with MatchRoom! I'm sure Eddie told him he can get him those fights. Time will tell!!!

Saudi Arabia is ready to put up serious money to make Boots vs Bud. By next year we will know if they’ll fight.

It all depends on Canelo! If His excellency can get Canelo for Crawford, Boots will never see Crawford! That’s the fight Crawford wants most!

Canelo’s got Benavidez problems in his hands. It appears he’s looking to fight at Eubank or Berlanga.

I hope you are right though.

Remember when Bud was draining himself to make 135 so he could beat small guys and unify the division? Remember how he moved to 140 and beat nondescript guys to unify a weak division instead of going up to 147 to fight real threats?

              Do you recall those days?
Who were the “real threats” at 147 at the time ?

It doesn’t matter. I was responding to this defrocked priest

You’d rather drain yourself and look skeletal

His words about Boots “growing a pair” so I asked the same exact question about Bud skipping 140 to go to 147. It’s the same logic.

It does matter, because you are criticizing the fighter by saying he was ducking threats at 147, so we need to validate your claim. We need to know who the threats were.

Canelo doesn’t have ANY problems! If he’s going to make the money he demands for fighting Eubank Jr. or Crawford, why fight Benavidez? His price for Benavidez is crazy high, because eventually, someone will pay for it, unless Benavidez loses before he does! His guaranteed money is so high, he could care less about PPV numbers, life is good!
