Go back to announcing the scores each round.

Boxing's the only sport where people are working without knowing what the score of the damn game is.

If O'Shaquie knew that he was getting robbed, he would've probably knocked Concecaio out.

Boxing has this convoluted scoring system which allows professional boxing people to feign this esoteric superiority. Fix it how you wrote above and things will be a lot better.

Problem is, that will harm those in the pro boxing industrial complex. Judges don't want this, because then it exposes them as not needing a superior boxing acumen to do their job. Additionally, those who certify, train, and regulate judges become less needed. There is a lot of money to be made in bureaucracy, and the bureaucracy will always defend its necessity.

Moreover, if there is any sort of corruption with house fighters and big names being gifted decisions, this asinine scoring system provides those in power with a viable means to implement said corruption. You can always have a judge claim that they felt the house fighter 'was the ring general' in a given round, or that the less favored fighter 'wasn't really effective with their aggression'. Its teflon to score however you want.
Great points. There are many good ideas out there about how to mitigate scoring controversy in boxing. Here's a recent thread on the scoring subject.

I tend to agree with this, but I also believe that a big part of the drama in the sport comes from the decision announcment. Some fans would argue that open scoring ruins that drama, while others would argue that it can help to ensure a lively fight through the last round. I'm a bit on the fence about it, but tend to think that open scoring is the better option.

This is why I hope Saudi Arabia takes over every aspect of boxing.
Corrupt judges of fights in Saudi Arabia can get beheaded. It’s pretty simple and fair.

Think we can start by just getting down to 2 belts instead of 4. And then consolidate some of the weight classes below 122. They dont need a weight class every 3 pounds.

I used to think just one belt is the goal and i mean it is but now we seen the UFC have tons of interim champions and nonsense like that. Jon jones still being champion and barely fighting in 5 years. so 2 belts prevents that problem.

The series does not address the FUNDAMENTAL cause of the mess that is pro boxing: promoters of individual boxers control/manipulate who fights who. Every rotten symptom, such as corrupt judges, multiple "champs" per weight class not fighting each other, inconsistent PED testing and punishment, a scoring system ripe for abuse... all these stem from the sport not having a governing body (more specifically a fighter's union) whose prime directive is the betterment of the sport in terms of legitimacy and profit.

A fighter's union would only make the best fights for maximum revenue. e.g. Canelo vs Benavidez brings more money than Canelo vr Ryder. And it would ALLOW promoters to bid on fights as events, like any other major sport.

thing about the multiple belts that also annoys me is their rankings or mandatories. some of their mandatories are complete chit. and they always want to be "different" from the other belt rankings, so now instead of a top 10 ranking you basically get a nearly top 40 ranking of contenders since everyone doesnt want to have the same guys. IDK why that is but if they are all looking objectively at the same group of guys they should be seeing most of their top 10 be the same and its never the case.

we get ****** **** like IBF says William Scull is the most deserving guy to fight Canelo, are you ***ing kidding me? why is benavidez also not your mandatory? even if not him there is nobody on the planet at 168 more deserving than this random bum to face the unified champion? just stop this bull**** already

UFC doesnt do that ****** ****. You dont see dana white roll out some random cuban eurobum lyft driver nobody has heard of and be like he is the mandatory to face khabib.
