Comments Thread For: Five fights in the second half of 2024 that will determine the Fighter of the Year

Considering that the 2023 Fighter of the Year race wasn't decided until after Naoya Inoue fought on December 26, it's safe to say the midpoint of the year -- which we just reached as Sunday became Monday -- is a bit early to be deciding the 2024 Fighter of the Year.

Usyk is way out in front. If he wins the rematch consider the matter closed.

Bam vs Ioka/Martinez should have also been listed.

Fundora Spence ? Joshua Dubois? Joking Raskin , right? I mean you can’t be serious.

If Tank steps up and fights Loma then the winner is in strong contention. Usyk beating Fury again puts him up there as well.

The last 3 fights mentioned have no business being in the same universe as the first 2

If usyk beats fury again and does it in very good fashion than it's gonna be very hard not to make him fighter of the year. Davis knocking out frank Martin and if he knocks out lomachenko to unify at 135 could be a 2nd place but Bam beating Estrada and Ioka/Martinez could have him there instead.

But also depending on which Loma shows up.

                Usyk or Tank

                Usyk wins it’s a wrap.

Tank KO’s Loma and Usyk loses, it’s him.

If Bam fights the winner of Ioka v Martinez, the winner has an outside chance, as would Inoue.

Not sure how much credit to give Usyk for beating Fury once, let alone twice. Fury beat Wilder and Chisora multiple times too.

If all victorious in their next fights, the real contention is between Beterbiev, Dubois, and Crawford if he fights and beats Canelo.

What does that even mean? When has Loma not shown up? His fight with Teo was close and he got robbed vs Haney and then demolished Kamboso.
