Comments Thread For: Stephen 'Breadman' Edwards: Judge's Scorecard Killed My Joy

The coach of middleweight contender Kyrone Davis, Stephen "Breadman" Edwards, says judge John McKaie should be made to explain his scorecard last weekend, having judged Elijah Garcia to be a wider winner over Davis.

I don’t always agree with Breadman but he does have a very valid point here
The fact that a career can be ruined by an incompetent judge makes the sport even harder to digest

It seems like more and more there is always one scorecard that is way off.

Incompetent judges should be banned from the sport. One win could be the difference of millions of dollars for some fighters. This dude needs to explain his scorecard to the promoters and sanctioning bodies.

It’s horrible. That card alone had the terrible Garcia card, and the 118-109 card in favor of Antuanne Russell

He's either John McOnTheTake or John McIncompetent. Either way, he needs to be fined, suspended, and demoted. Fighters get suspended (rightfully) for PEDs and other infractions (biting, fouls, etc) and so should judges.

Stephen 'Breadman' Edwards is absolutely correct about one thing, they will allow this corrupt judge to go on to bigger and better things if hell isn't raised! It's wrong they know it's wrong but continue to allow this behavior and I have witnessed payoffs myself as a young man in Michigan with a manager of a fighter and a judge whom he had a personal relationship with, which is complete B.S. and this was back in the 80's but the fact corruption is present and pending today. If Breadman don't bring this up every fight, I will and his name need to be put on blast, I don't see how he can sleep being so rotten, these people are trying to feed their families etc. and this Mo Fo will go on as if normal and it's just not right.

                killed his joy?

how about having some undefeated guy making cash who goes against one of these A-siders and gets 2 of these judges against him? what would that kill i wonder?

Breadman is 100% right. bad Judges, on the take, etc, and horrid promoters have already destroyed most of boxing, if this keeps up no one will watch. I used to love to bet on fights and won't do it now because of corrupt judges. You never know how bad they are until it is too late, unless they are called out.

So in the interest of science I did an experiment. I have this friend who is blind, mentally challenged, and does not hear so good... I asked him to simply sit in front of the Davis fight and indicate a score... He was more in line with the other two judges... go figure! That means this third judge is less capable than a mentally challenged, blind, almost deaf individual who does not know boxing.
