Mayweather = Former & Last Lineal Welterweight Champion.
First 1.5 yrs as a pro, won a world title - without a title eliminator or interim title ... and in his first 17 or 18 fights
+ 10 consecutive years as a world champion
+ 5-WBC titles in as many weight classes
+ 6-time world champion, in his first 10 yrs as pro
+ All championships he won were off of reigning champions - no vacant titles -
+ He was a challenger in a fight 6 times and has a 6-0 2KO
+ 15 current/former world champions faced
23-title fights (23-0 record)
3 linear titles
all this happened during a streak of 39 straight victories and within the first 10 yrs of his professional career.
No one in the history of boxing has accomplished that without havinng taken a loss or more
He's only 1 championship away from tying the record held by Sugar Ray Robinson and thats winning 7 world champions ...
He's currently tied with Sugar Ray Leonard with legitimized championship in 5 different weight classes.
I'm not saying you have to like the man but he's one of the best of all-time ...
It also has been confirmed that (not including linear titles) Pacquiao has won titles in only 4 weight classes (with as many alphabet titles) and Oscar didn't have many legitimized titles ...
It really boils down to there being doubt on how much of it has to do with floyd being talented vs how much roger is a great trainer. Anyone would look like a great trainer if you had a fighter like Floyd, Cotto, or Mosley. The only way we would know is if he went out and trained other people, which he doens't...so that is why he will never win trainer of the year.
But you already knew that.
Talent can only get you so far. If Floyd didnt have Roger grooming him and developing his skills from an early age he might just be another Cotto or Mosley and not the greatest fighter in the world.

Floyd looks good 'cause he's cherry picking his opponents. Let him fight real welterweights and you'll see that Fraud is a mediocre boxer.
Roger must be behind bars for life for his criminal activities.

and you do know that the only way to prove this is if he was able to take another fighter and guide him to a championship level. Has he done that? No..so it is a mute point.
The thing is unless he does that will always be the question...Floyd's talent vs Rogers training. We see Floyd's talent but we don't know how roger is because we havent seen him with anyone else. Again you already know this...you have to fool.lol
