Roadblock you don't necessarily have to see it, the fact is that any fighter on a given day can knockout another fighter.
That's already been proven as a matter of fact throughout the course of boxing's long history.
You add young, undefeated, power punchers to that truism, and the chances of their winning, or pulling off an upset exists to an even greater extent.
That said here are a few more point's as to why Matias' are to some degree who they were at the time that they fought ( not everyone elite or not is willing to fight him).
1. Subriel Matias is ranked # 1, by Boxrec : he has already called out all of the 140 pound champions for the unification of the belts, and undisputed championship.
2. Devin Haney is ranked # 2, by Boxrec : he states that he needs a warm up or two before taking on Matias.
3. Teofimo Lopez is ranked # 3, by Boxrec : he states he wants to fight the best, and then chooses to fight Steve Claggett.ranked # 7, by Boxrec (a cherry pick)? or !
4. Issac Cruz is rated # 4, by Boxrec : he states that he will fight him, but his father states he wants 7 million for the fight?
I would love to see Cruz, and Matias, make that kind of money, but I just don't see it happening. Simply because they aren't big enough stars yet.
Issac Cruz is the one champion who I believe would be willing to fight Subriel Matias next, it would be the most action packed, it's a unification.
It would be a sold out event, because it would pit one of the biggest rivalries in boxing against each other.
Subriel Matias can only fight the fighters who are willing to step into the ring against him, and he still has a very capable challenger to beat in his next fight.
So we still have to wait, and see what happens on Saturday, but I've got Matias winning by stoppage after a hard fought battle.
