I always thought he would be drowned when he fought real guys. I'm not sure he is shot, I think he just finally had to step up. and that is his level. if he gets into hof I hope the place burns to the ground. but you are right, when the moron "boxing media" are ones who vote I sure there ignorance will prevail. Thuman, Danny Garcia, Porter, Broner and the rest of those pbc guys will probably get in as well. but it's a joke. Wish Wilder well and hope he choses his friends and aquintences well in his real life going forward
let's be real here he is definitely making it to the HoF his contemporaries aren't much better so he'll make it on the basis of the trilogy alone.

Don't forget there is guys like Gatti, McGuigan and Mancini who got in, people get in on popularity and style not skill or accomplishments all the time...

Now if he makes it as a first ballot HoF that would be a disgrace.

The greatest boxing con job ever. I actually give huge credit to everyone involved for managing to pull it off. It was an audacious move - right down to the detail of building up credibility behind Ortiz specifically for Wilder to knock him out.

And while the fighter himself isn't exactly a sportsman, I do respect him giving us a bit of entertainment and earning a lot of money.

And the sport does need a US Heavyweight.

The very idea that Joshua was ducking him is laughable. Everyone, and I mean everyone, wanted Wilder. When Whyte was ranked highly he wanted him, Joshua always wanted him, Fury was even prepared to fight him as part of his comeback. And then as soon as he lost some of his standing all the fighters with less commercial draw wanted him too.
Joshua always wanted him? That head case wanted his mommy and a pacifier after Ruiz dropped him. Piling on Wilder is easy now. Hearn and A.J were always afraid of the power!

Prime Wilder always had AJ's number he just wasn't prepared to sell himself short.

Joshua choosing his sparring partner and an MMA guy even recently says he's always quacked over facing Wilder.

Just like AJ is ducking Parker now and always has since jobbing him off his belt 6 years ago.

Easiest way to prove AJ has the heart of a champion and the balls of a warrior is to rematch Parker.

More than likely he'll pick over the carcass of Parkers victims and fight the tired old Chinaman.
Sure, and if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. Wilder fought old man and B level guys under the protection of the PBC. Everyone but the blind faithful could see Wilder had no technique, no defense, no jab, no footwork or punch resistance. A one dimensional right hand that cherry picked an out of shape drug addict that backfired. If he kept fighting in house cans he'd be undefeated.

Congratulations Zhang, he delivered the big ****.

Wilder can at least retire knowing he was the heavyweight champion at one time, and that he was in an unforgettable trilogy with Fury, where two of the bouts were dramatic.

Mainly of course, millions of dollars, so he and his family don't have to work again, ever.

Wilder vs Joshua....would have been epic!

The PBC were NEVER going to risk losing the WBC belt. Wilder missed out on 80-100 million because Shelly Finkel convinced Deontay Wilder to "go another way" in order to keep the money train running IN HOUSE! (see Errol Spence). Finnkel's "easier way" would leap frog AJ and his belts to beat an out of of shape drug addict and claim Lineal Champion status . Unfortunately for Wilder, Shelly Finnkel miss calculated Fury's ability box and take a punch. Without the hype and the belt the entire PBC Heavyweight line up became irrelevant and the rest is history.

He lost all those Fury fights, the shocking draw they gave him in the first fight was against a drug addled faded fury who was in way way worse shape than when he fought Ngannou. What do you want me to give him credit for? He spent his entire early carear fighting bums until he got a belt and then avoiding unifications, Vlad, Parker, Joshua always an excuse.

bye Mr Wilder thanks for no memories

Jessie Vargas if I remember correctly if you're talking about the fight with the ret@rded ref who confused the 10 second warning for the bell?

Wilder is only a shadow of his former self who just can’t pull the trigger on the right hand that once defined his career. Wilder has been given enough opportunities and it’s time for him to finally retire.
