Great discussion of why a smaller fighter often loses a rematch to a larger fighter he has beaten. Another example: the two fights between Sugar Ray Robinson and Carmen Basilio. Basilio was much the smaller man, but edged the first fight. In the second fight Basilio started well, but Robinson made adjustments and won.

I will say Hoyfield, because he is black.

I'm completely with Breadman concerning Round 9.

It’s because of Fury stumbling all over the place, getting repeatedly battered into the ropes for a good 20 seconds or so before the referee stepped in to call the knockdown, that I actually went 10-7 on that round. Fury was so badly hurt that 10-8 was justified even before the ref called it.

Ok. I don't know if judges are allowed to do that. I know they are allowed to give a 10-8 even if the ref didn't call a knockdown. But a 10-7 after only one knockdown call? I don't know.

If that follow up punch the ref stopped Usyk from landing on a helpless fury would’ve landed we wouldn’t be talking about a rematch at all. This sport is funny that way, at this point give us the fight we’ve been waiting to see fury vs Joshua for the king of England. Fury came in lighter to box and was outboxed imho even with a seven inch advantage. A heavier going for the knockout fury gases early and gets beaten up even worse. Fury has a few tells and he’s not going to correct them in time for a rematch. His head always goes right back to point zero, literally every time he coming back forward from leaning back away from something. Usyk saw this the jaw is wide open for clocking and that’s why fury kept eating lefts, in a rematch I see Usyk wearing him out and exploiting that but realizing if the left lands keep punching which he didn’t this time until he rocked fury and had him out on his feet.

Bradman will never throw Crawford off his pfp perch, when ever their is debate over the top position, he always sits on the fence and talks about 1a , 1b, and 1c nonsense.

Maybe that’s because in a pound for pound sense, Crawford is clearly one of the best fighters if not the best fighter, skill wise in the world. No one has even come close to beating him across 3 divisions, 2 of which he has become undisputed.
