Ryan cheated by not making weight, but Devin cheated inside the ring. So he deserved to lose.

Ryan didn't cheat not making weight, he just forfeit the chance to win the belt. I suppose the win meant more to him than the belt. I mean, his stock has only gone up since this so he was probably right in that regard.

That said, Haney got a taste of his own medicine. He's been a frequent weight bully so it was nice to see how he handles someone doing that to him. Glad to report, the bully couldn't take it.

      My take on the weight:

It wasn't the agreed weight so Ryan deserved his financial penalty, he would have deserved it if Haney told him to take a walk, fight's off. He also doesn't get the belts, obviously fair.

However, we know Haney can make 140 and be strong, he looked great in the Prograis fight. We also know Haney rehydrates a lot and is one of the bigger guys in the division.

We also know that Garcia would have been strong because he didn't drain himself. So what we had is two similarly sized guys in good condition. Based on that, I personally don't think the outcome would have been any different if the fight had originally been contracted at 143 or 147 etc and both had made weight.

Not making the weight, is not allowed. That is why the fight, went from being a Championship fight 'To just a fight'.

The facts are? That if people are really honest, this fight between Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney was not a equal fight 'Both fighters were training, and competing under different conditions'.

Ryan Garcia won the fight, great performance for him 'But Garcia did not beat Haney under Championship conditions. Ryan Garcia is not a World Champion'.

Note: Devin Haney was the only fighter of the two, to train and fight under Championship conditions. If Garcia was negatively effected by the catch weight of 136 pounds, and the rehydration clause vs Tank Davis, then he would been positively effected by not making the weight limit of 140 pounds vs Devin Haney.

Garcia would of been a stronger fighter, by not weight draining himself to the extent that would of been required for him to make the 140 pound weight limit 'This is elite level boxing, and those factors make a difference to performances'.

In reality both fighters are well known for their weight draining tactics, so really? For me this is just another fight were one fighter i.e Ryan Garcia potentially made a conscious decision not to make the weight.

This is why the Heavyweight Division is the Ultimate boxing Division in terms of raw competition. There are no weight limits, no catch weights or rehydration clauses 'They are just two fighters competing and preparing optimally, with the intention of winning at a Championship level'.

There definitively needs to be a rematch between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney, and this time 'It has to be a equal contest. On the weekend, anyone who understands boxing knows? That the fight was not a equal contest, Garcia did not make the weight'.

The top boxers trainers, and coaches in the game 'Know that Garcia vs Haney was not a equal fight. The two fighters trained and competed under different conditions, those factors for sure definitively had a effect on each fighters performance'.

I am content that Garcia won the fight, because he has been making fights that he could of avoided 'But I will not overlook the fact, that he did not make the 140 weight limit during a Championship fight' etc.

Ehh, he's the same, awkward fighter. Only thing I can say is that 3.8 weight advantage made the difference and the Haney's messed up agreeing to fight that catchweight. And it was an ugly fight, both guys were clinching, and the referee did a s h i t t y job.

It was weird seeing Dock not even warn Haney once in the 12 rounds about his excessive holding.

I thought when I saw Dock first rip Haney off of Garcia, he was going to immediately tell Haney not to do that. But no, just break, and fight. He did that a couple times, had to rip a badly hurt Haney off of Garcia. And not say anything. Crazy. And he was warning Garcia for all sorts of things. Like damn dude, at least be a little subtle about who you’re rooting for.
