He's a good fighter at 135. We've never seen him at 140. Is this a better fight than Teo vs Barboza, José Ramírez, or even Hitchins? Those are the top 3 contenders for his belt. He could rematch Sandor Martin and beat him cleanly if he can, or take on Taylor's daddy, Catterall. Why is this a better fight? I'm not a huge fan of this new trend of bringing up fighters from a division below rather than fighting the top contenders who have been working and present in your division.

Really like this fight and people shouldn't sleep on Paro, not that I think he'll win but he'll make it competitive. I just wanna see Matias in the ring and active.

Came to say the same thing Paro is a good fighter, not well known even here in Aus but yeh he KO'd Love and he smoked Jarvis who was highly rated at the time (domestically at least)

Dunno if he can handle Matias constant pressure and heavy hands, but he's quick and he'll hopefully make it a good contest.

I didn't say this was a better fight. I said it was a great matchup. Ortiz was killing himself to make 135. Dude is huge. He's bigger than Teo so I'm sure he will feel great tonight. I scored the Loma fight a draw. I think Ortiz was drained and that's why he faded down the stretch. He actually missed weight his next fight and looked absolutely emaciated at the weigh in of his last LW clash. He's not being "brought up" like you mentioned (and I agree with you there ie: Canela) he literally couldn't safely make 35 anymore. Teo's got his hands full.

Yeah, I'm actually picking him for the upset. But I'm basically always wrong when I bet against Teo, so...

Well . . . That was a terrible show. I'm disappointed in Jamaine's willingness to consistently engage. I think he won but man . . . That was weaksauce. Hopefully he decides not to leave it on the judges hands anymore.

Yeah, disappointed all around. I don't think he has the power though to keep it out of the judges hands. He can join Shakur in the snoozefest corner as far as I'm concerned.

The bout is not quite finalized but is tentatively targeted to take place in early summer at a location to be determined in Matias' native Puerto Rico.

Im really shocked that lil tank hasnt tried to get a fight with Matias. He loves dumb, Plotting fighters. Matias is custom built for tank.

Has Liam got much media attention over their since the win? Are there any good sized arenas in his hometown to headline?

We knew he was a good fighter but he showed some real balls against Matias, I hope he has a better run than Kambosos.
