Comments Thread For: Devin Haney on Ryan Garcia: We're in Negotiations, It Could Very Much Be What's Next

WBC junior welterweight champion Devin Haney is hoping to finalize a fight against Ryan Garcia for the first half of 2024. Haney is coming off one of the best performances of his career - a one-sided beating of Regis Prograis to capture the WBC strap.

Why not this fight? Looks like Tank and Pitbull will be announced as the PBC amazon prime's first PPV card

Say what you want about Haney, you got to respect the fact that he's creating his own legacy. Super disciplined dude that lives an breathes boxing. Well on his way at the point he's got some really good names on his resume and has already made upwards of 20 million combined in his last few fights. Pretty dam good for 25 years old.

Gotta give Ryan credit but he should just do what Oscar tells him. He'd be 35-0 before taking a really dangerous fight and him being at the bottom of the totem pole of young elite boxers, this won't end good for him. I honestly don't even believe he could be Rolly right now, he needs more developmental fights.. The Haney fight would be very big, but one sided.

Ironically it might be Tank's most interesting fight he does in quite some time...only because I'm really curious on what numbers he'll pull without having a major social media diva as his dance partner.

With all those (young) fighters taking ages to make a fight and having no problem sitting on the sideline for a year or so, Haney deserves a lot of praise.
Just a few weeks after a title fight and he is already in serious negotiations for his next (big) fight.

You have to respect Ryan Garcia too, for being willing to make dangerous fights.

He shows more guts than someone like Tank Davis for example.

I'm still waiting to see what De La Hoya has to say about this fight! So far, he's not negotiating through the media, which is a good thing!

Props to Ryan for being able to capitalize on having an idiot fan base who actually believe he’s elite and wants the best challenges. If this happens , the guy will have talked his way into two lucrative fights that he couldn’t/can’t win, and hasn’t even done anything to deserve it. What’s most impressive are his supporters are praising him as a someone chasing greatness despite him flat out quitting recently. Clearly another money grab for him.

Better than praising Tank who needs "rehydration clause" to beat someone who is NOT Elite. Or better than Haney who is trying to fight a guy Who is NOT at the elite level or guys that are 34 plus years old.
