Floyd Mayweather Should Fight Shane Mosley, Says Arum

1. Well if Floyd is this huge draw he could of gotten good money to fight Clottey in his fight. Oscar got good money for fighting Campass.

2. True Arum had a gaurantee of 8mil. And, true Floyd made 10mil for Baldomir. But, out of those 10mil only 8.1mil was gauranteed. And, it did less than 400k buys. Now the Floyd-Margarito would of done more than more than 400k buys. Margarito had more of a fan base than Baldomir. He had a Mexican following and a West Coast following. Floyd would of gotten more than 10mil if he would of fought Margarito.

3. P4P is not a weightclass. WW is a weightclass. Yes JMM was #2 P4P. But, JMM couldn't not beat any top 20 WW.

We all know Floyd was a big draw, but became a huge draw when he beat DLH and became the villan in you Floyd haters eyes. And why on earth would Floyd fight Margarito when he was lining up a fight that made history with DLH???? Please explain the logic in that?

And you are correct P4P is not a weight class LW and WW are. and there have been P4P's that have made the jump successfully. And a few of them were mentioned in this thread, Mosley jumping strait from LW to WW to win the title; Pac (who arguably lost twice to Marquez) after one fight at LW jumping to WW to stop his opponent; DLH moved up from LW to WW; and lets not forget Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. moved up as well.

We all know Mosley had a toothache at WW, LW I can't necessarily blame him for not taking the fight, because the risk was greater than the reward. But none-the-less he was approached twice about a Mayweather fight, and he turned him down twice. Now he wants the fight in the twilight of his career.

Easy..name a top welter weight...who is peak, natural at welter, and great, that he fought. name one... Save the titles...who has he beaten...Hell John Ruiz won a title..is he great... It is quality of opposition Judah..lost to everyone he ever foguth baldomir a bum Dlh 36 years old and shot Hatton..never a proven or good welter... almost got stopped by callazo at wetler, then literally destoyed by a featherweightin 2. JMM....a featherweight..... Moslely at least fought top opponents... natual welters.

let's compare that to some of mosely's opponents.. prime dlh (twice) vargas (twice) winky (twice) forrest margarito mayorga collazo now dlh trinidad hopkins vargas hernandez pacman sturn mosely chavez (old though) quartey plenty of elite fighters.. now pbf... castillo(robbed once) baldo waldo judah mitchell gatti (really past his prime) dlh (crearly past his) corrales (i always considered him too clumsy) hatton (i called that ko) marquez (and still could not finish him) tell me how you can even compare resumes to this clowns.. mosely's got five losses cause his weakest opponent was better than foney's best win.. who i thinks would be corrales..

margarito wasnt overrated..he has great stamina and chin and could throw tons of punches...he didnt have any technical skill or defense but the guy could give anyone a tough fight(except mosley of course

i would say that #1 WW is a toss up between Cotto and mosley but with Cottos victory over Mosley and a more active schedule it goes to Cotto

How do you figure? Mayweather has 2 championships for every weight class Mosley has fought in. All with out a loss. You say he never fought anyone, but who else has as many lineal championships with out a loss?

EDIT: Money has Lineal championships for every weight class Mosley has fought in. What has Mosley achieved?

mosley consistently fights better opposition than floyd.... margo, cotto, collazo, winky, forrest, prime dlh, etc.....

floyd's resume is good too, but it ain't **** compared to mosley's

I think you are not correct. he became a big draw only by fighting Oscar and Hatton, and the point could be made that they would have had huge PPV no matter who rhey fought. They had proven this time after time, whereas Mayweather couldn't draw "flies". Oscar was well past his best, probably by about 4-5 years, boxing once a year, with very spotty performances, banking on his great popularity, and Hatton had had his best career fight against Kostya Tzyu, when he won the title. Hatton couldn't compete with a natural welterweight, and, although being well behind on points against Mayweather, he was really K'Od by the ring post.

A good boxer, very good defensively, and excellent reflexes.....but NOT by any means a GREAT fighter.

Keep trying to pretend PPV results dont matter. It is important when discussing how potential fights will be made, like Floyd v Pac. The monetary split will be an essential issue.

Correction do not be fooled by the Mayweather antics. When Mayweather asked Mosley to fight at LW, Mosley was moving up and was the name, Mayweather was a talent but not what Mosley was at that point in time. Thus it was not smart to risk it vs the super talented Mayweather but get no $ vs a possible showdown vs DLH. Which is precisly what some are giving Mayweather a bye for,,,,(not fighting top fighters but waiting for the big payday vs DLH).

2nd time Mosley was asked about a Mayweather fight, Yeah he did kind of initially punk out..saying my tooth BS..However within a weak he immediately told mayweather he would fight him in jan...just not by the end of the year. Mayweathers camp refused to wait til jan..Thus no fight.

Why no fight now.....Mosely wants him, Mayweather needs to fight a Mosley and stop fighting these feather weights, while he is the Welter weight champion. Why is he avoiding him. The fight is right there.

As for who ever said Mayweather turned down the Margo fight for DlH.. False he was approached with a 8Mill offer to fight Margo,,contract in hand, and Mayweather stood up and punked out..This was right during the negotiations for the Baldomir fight. Where Mayweather got 8mil for that fight. So again why is Mayweather avoiding top welter weights...i know why.
