I agree, they are. But from a risk-reward perspective it's a massive opportunity. Ngannou has just made himself a big name so a fight with him is big money in itself and it would set up a subsequent fight with Fury too. That's huge $$$. We still don't know that Ngannou is all that either. Fury fought a bad fight and styles make fights.
It's probably irrelevant though, I think we'll see Fury-Ngannou 2 now and Usyk having all options on the table, retirement, a stay busy, just waiting or taking another big fight instead.
1. Ngannou is super strong as we have seen in the MMA cage. Fury's Tactic of putting his weight on the opponent like he did to wear out Wilder didn't work at all because of Ngannou's super human physical strength. Usyk won't have this advantage. Fury will be able to wear him down in the clinch.
2. Ngannou's punching power. He had enough punching power to drop Fury badly and keep him honest throughout the fight. While Usyk is a very good sharp shooter, his punching power is nothing special and Fury will be able to walk him down if he has to.
These are the reasons they say styles make fights. Obviously Usyk is more skillful and more experienced than Ngannou but he doesn't have the physical stats to counter Fury's advantages like Ngannou did.
HOWEVER, as a great man once said: "There is more than one way to skin a cat."
Usyk fans should hope that he has found the other way because he isn't going to be able to do what Ngannou did..

NO, this does not negate a fight where fury was controlled a good deal of the fight, got hit with the more effective punches, Possibly got dropped another time, and where compubox numbers actually mean something... Fury was beaten and Vegas did not want to take the hit... And even one judge understood.

There was no way Francis was going to get that win unless he knocked Fury's head off. Boxing just keeps getting more and more about bread and circus.' In the Saudi world fury's lack of dignity, lack of respect for the position of heavyweight champ is rewarded with gifts and a gift decision. Makes one sick...

People have to realize that Fury is also 35 and has lived pretty hard outside the ring in addition to stints of inactivity. This could possibly be the current version of him.

I think this has massive implications for everything everybody expected to happen. I reckon the rematch is more likely than the unification. Usyk would then be looking for a new opponent if he sticks around, potentially Wilder? Which complicates things for AJ. Lot's of speculation but it's not hard to see how significant the domino effect could be. Even if Fury did crack on with Usyk. Wilder/AJ etc would then be desperate to fight Ngannou to say they beat the guy that "beat" Fury.
