I think it was the perfect storm. Fury has gotten lazy, he stopped working on what made him great, and resorted to relying on mauling to wear people down, he also fought two BS opponents since Wilder, which did nothing to help him progress as a HW. The problem tonight was he could not maul a man that is the superior wrestler, physically stronger, and weighs about the same, and has power in BOTH fists, something Wilder didn't. What we have is Fury's Krytponite, a snapshot of what happens when Fury fights someone that can compete with him physically, and has the engine to press him, tonight also proved that the Wilder fights were more about Fury being a weight bully than anything else.

A rematch with Francis is by FAR the most lucrative fight out there in the HW division, but Fury is probably so embarrassed that he will maul Usyk, and then retire.

Fury doesn't embarrass.

But he does make calculated decisions and live off his own overinflated ego. The risk of finishing his career by following up this embarrassment with a loss to Usyk will be absolutely unthinkable.

I doubt he faces Usyk. Not now. Too high risk and Fury doesn't do risks unless he absolutely needs to.

Keep doubting him. Jon Jones hid from Ngannou for 3 years. Tonight showed why. Jones will never dare to get in a ring or cage with Ngannou ever. He's going to hide behind Dana White and "his side of the street" for the rest of his career, and the rest of his life. As Ngannou said to him: "so cross the street."

I hate Dana more than anyone and I love Francis as much as anyone bar his family and friends.... He still gets beat by the baddest man to walk this planet in modern history. Jon Jones doesn't lose to any man that I've seen.

Francis being robbed is the talk of the heavyweight division the rematch in Dec makes big money in Saudi Arabia....

Fury has looked nowhere near the same since the third Wilder fight. That's the point.

Wilder put that man down four times across three fights. That changes you. Fury himself said he didn't feel right months after. And now he gets dropped by a non-power hand.

Wilder may have shattered the glass, ala Tarver/Jones 2.

I have been thinking this for a while now, that third Wilder fight changed him, it's almost as if he went to a place he never wants to go back to, cherry picking fights, fighting MMA fighters, I think Wilder damaged him more than we realize, he did fight him three times, and took even glancing shots that could cause serious damage.

Yeah, but then Fury would have been trained ans been really focus.

Francis does not beat anybody in the top 20 in HW boxing IMO.

It's just that Fury is a nutcase who came in 300 lbs and lazy.

Maybe, Francis was admirable either way. Fury should have been better, he paid for his recent antics and his complacency. But not as much as he should have.

And yet... Jon Jones still hid from Francis for 3 years, and only showed up after he left. That's fact. He's never going to get in with Francis because he doesn't believe it. Facts are facts. Unless he nuts up and gets in the ring with Francis, which he won't, and definitely won't now, all you've got is fanboy supposition. Jones is a PED cheat anyways, while Francis has never popped even a little positive ever. Fury won't dare to step into MMA now, and Jones certainly won't risk fighting either Fury or Ngannou in either sport, for fear of looking worse in comparison to Ngannou.

Nobody saw that coming. I had Francis winning by a point. He should have fought the last round harder though to make sure in my opinion. I haven't seen the cards yet so I don't know if it mattered.
What Ngannou did was flat out mind boggling.
Poor Usyk had to have been shytting bricks watching that money float away.
