Both Spence and Crawford want to get paid, but the general sports fan feels that this rivalry is settled so not many fans are clamoring for a rematch. This means that a rematch (at 147 or 154lbs) isn't likely going to generate the buys that the first fight generated; and that fight sold fairly underwhelmingly (~$650K PPV buys) for a supposed superfight. Crawford is insisting on 147lbs instead of agreeing to 154lbs (which he admits probably suits him too) as a bargaining chip to get a better cut of the proceeds. If they rematch, it will certainly be at 154lbs, but Bud is going to walk away with the substantially better cut. Spence is the guy who needs this rematch for redemption, not Crawford.
The fight did excellent, considering the higher price point, and I know the ticket sales were phenomenal! Crawford deserves a better cut, but I hope he doesn't make it ridiculous, because he doesn't have anything else lined up! Tszyu is fighting Mendoza, Canelo is fighting Charlo, and I know he don't wanna see Boots for that smaller pie, so just get it done, and let's go!

Agree. I don't think Bud fights again at 147lbs, but if he does, the only fight for him there is with Boots. I don't think it happens. That's just far too much risk for relatively low reward, given that the average fan is unaware of Boots and relatively few people are pressing Crawford for that fight now that he's gotten past Spence.

By the sound of it, you wouldn't likely give Crawford credit for beating Boots either. It seems like you'd just go down the same revisionist path and discredit Boots as an unproven hypejob who went the distance with a guy named Karen.

          not true at all

sounds like a thing bud might say actually

u cant accuse someone of going down that road of bigging up a guy and then saying they are not all that after the event, thats in your head stuff, silly people do that

          'by the sound of it'
          'it seems like'

i could just as easily say by the sounds of it, it seems like u are a bud fan not happy with the flowers hes getting at the moment

Crawford has a HOF-worthy resume if he retires tomorrow. He is a 3-weight world champion, undisputed in two divisions. He's fought 10 current or former world champions and fought/won 18 championship fights. He's on top of the world right now, but I understand perfectly well why he remain's a bit salty that many people still don't give him his full respect. He beat/dominated the best fighters who he could get under his promotional arrangement and then he beat the top guy on the 'other side of the tracks' - a feat that not only validates his resume but completely upends the silly PBC narrative that Crawford cherry-picked his opponents while ducking the best. As Bud says, those '2nd-rate" champions he was beating put up far better fights than the supposed big fish. It's true that he really should be over it now that he dominated his arch rival, but he's a proud guy.

Or maybe there was something wrong with Spence prior to the fight

the guy has been on pretty much all p4p lists for i dont know how long, im not sure what respect he actually wants, has he beat a long line of killers in the ring going life and death and dogging out results taking damage and coming back etc etc like other guys have, no this guy is just too good for that lol u would think from his fans, well there are lots and lots of good and great guys in the past who those same fans said about them and probably on here, stop hyping this guy up, whos he fought?? its a common boxing theme

Don't understand the comment , BUD has always been p4p but he is resume is/was questionable. He beat the Texas BBQ out of Spence and has been universally been given is flowers and elevated to #1 P4P. But he then turns around and essentially craps on Spence and devalues his own win , nobody on his resume comes close to Spence.

Was something wrong with Spence in his other three title fights or over 20 victories?
