I have to disagree about Inoue being bigger than Fulton. When they were getting instructions from the ref I was surprised by how much bigger Fulton looked. Maybe it's just me but that's what I saw.

Fulton is bigger in terms of length and general body type. Inoue has alot more muscle, if you look at his legs, back, core, shoulders.

A guy who is skinny may be bigger physically, but what people are talking about is Inoue's muscle mass, which is part of the reason Inoue bullied the size wise bigger, but less muscled, Fulton.

A decent comparison is prime Tyson. He fought guys alot bigger than him at times, but he was so much more muscled and strong, he was "bigger" than them in the ring. And manhandled them.

Inoue is physically very, very strong. He has a good coach in the gym and his nutrition is probably perfect, judging by his build.

Anytime someone makes up their mind they just want to survive they not only forfeit any possibility of winning, but they oddly seem to increase their probability of getting stopped, especially against a bully type fighter
I think Fulton went in truly believing he was the quicker, smarter boxer, and every strategy and potential adjustment was built on that belief. When he realised in the first round that Inoue was quicker, and Fulton also didn't have an inteligence advantage, the foundation of every strategy he had was gone. You could see he tried adjusting after a few rounds but without the advantages he thought he would have, there was no successful strategy he could turn to. Someone in his camp should have whispered in his ear during preparations 'what if he's quicker than you?', but I'm guessing they all just told him he was faster and the better boxer and he went in believing it.

I complain when the articles look like fan mail or like they were written by a semi-literate drunk on a week long bender , so I have to give credit where it's due. This article was well written and professionally done. Good job.

Fulton looked stronger and more muscular than Inoue to me , especially in the upper body . I'm going to have to look again. You're right about Inoue being strong , he handled the few clinch attempts with no problem.

Fulton like Loma against Teo fought very cautiously, because he could sense the danger that Inouye possessed, sort of like going for a walk in a minefield.

I'm a Monster fan. Fulton has definitely got a future at 126, he is capable of out boxing a lot of opponents, I'm going to be routing for him, respect
Fulton needs to put some muscle on those stick-like legs of his. He'll need more power to compete as he moves up in weight.

I agree. I think it's a great analysis of what happened in this fight. Before the fight, there were questions about Inoue moving up in weight and whether he'd lose some of his power and most importantly, how would he handle Fulton's size and reach. That was quickly answered as Naoya gave a boxing clinic. In, out, up, down, feinting and coming behind faster jabs and body shots. And he was quicker than Fulton and just as strong, even stronger in the clinches. An enjoyable read.

Definitely, I watched a training video of Crawford last month, he has sprinters thighs, he definitely does squats, I think Inoue does too.
