explain this to me al, because last time i checked, mosley was/is a middle-class kid from pomona, ca that hung out with more latins than blacks...he hung out with oscar de la hoya when they were kids and had more of a following with latins than with blacks from the jump...now if this is the case, wouldn't his connection with the black community as it relates to his ppv appeal reflect that? why should shane mosley be forced to be something he apparently is not? thats just like when hammer tried to go gangster...it didn't work...

moreover, it was quite obvious to me from the way he spoke in front of the cameras that he isn't straight hood like mayweather, who likes to flash all his dough in front of the cameras like a modern day ignorant coon, who acts like he never counted over ten dollars in his life...mayweather gets a pass with the suits though doesn't he al, because his street cred and his ppv is peaking...

so tell me this al, since you are such a well versed businessman, what happens when floyd and shane can't fight like they used to and you can't squeeze another ppv buy out of 'em...do they become just, statistics?
The reality, sad or otherwise, is that the powers that be do not care whether the dollars come from Lil' Wayne or Wayne Newton. Cable boxes don't discriminate.

It's fine that Shane isn't hood. Or that Shane doesn't have street cred. Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods came up as middle -class black kids who were probably not all that comfortable in the hood. But they still sell. Sugar Ray Leonard wasn't all street. Lewis Hamilton is an elegant young man.

If Shane doesn't have a connection to black people, that is perfectly fine. But have a connection to SOMEBODY. Who is Shane's audience? You say that Shane has/had a connection with the Latin community. But where are they on fight night? Why can't he sell a PPV or pack an arena?

California is a community-property state. That means "half". And Cali is generous with spousal and child support. They had three kids together. Jin just took Shane to the cleaners. Believe that.

I understand that SM needs to get his hustle on at this late stage. It is transparent to everybody but his most "ardent supporters" (I refuse to call people nuthuggers). I'm not knocking his hustle. But let's call it what it is.

Shane claims that nobody wants to fight him. That everybody is afraid of him. HUH? Shane has fought Delahoya twice. Vargas twice. Both of those guys are popular with large followings. Shane fought Winky. Forrest. mayorga. Cotto. Margarito. Collazo. He was offered, and turned down, fights with Mayweather, Williams, Berto and Clottey. Where are all the guys who are supposedly afraid of Shane? I don't see it.

Look at all the exposure Shane has had that he absolutely squandered!! TWO, count 'em, TWO fights with Oscar. Pacquiao and Mayweather made their Oscar fights count. Even Hopkins turned his Oscar exposure into a PPV career. Shane wasted it.

Shane wants two fights: mayweather and pacquiao. So he can get a huge pension off those guys. Arum knows it. Mayweather knows it. Anyone objective can see that.

i don't know if i really got my questions answered, but sounds to me that the "excuse for not fighting shane" machine is all oiled up...

damn, all this talk about hagler and hopkins and atg stauts by you fools--and floyd gets ****ted on for fighting the number 2 p4p off of a 2 year layoff and totally dominates the guy, yet he gets **** for it---and you people try to justify hopkins fighting smaller guys and hagler fighting smaller guys, yet floyd, who came up from 130, and only fought 2 guys smaller than him, hatton(who could have faced floyd at 140, yet, openly ducked him back in 2005, let's not forget this)...floyd has beaten guys his size and bigger in dominating fashion, so weight is just excuses----did ruiz get criticized for fighting roy jones? not that i'm aware of, i'm sure he did to some degree, but roy gets super praised for beating him---and it's not fair to ruiz because he was in a no way situation, just like floyd is in always it seems---the only difference is that floyd has come up through 5 weight classes and maintained and undefeated record, that's pure brilliance---nobody seemed to want to fight him in 2005---at 140---imo---him at his most dangerous---oscar, winky, hatton, kosta loses to the man who openly ducked floyd, mosley, and judah----they all wanted no part of this man---now since he's on top, and as big as he is, they want to criticize him---it's all bull****---floyd wanted mosley when mosley was younger and more in to his prime--now mosley wants a big payday, which is okay---but floyd doesn't have to fight him right away---mosley has to wait for floyd--not the other way around--floyd has too many fights he can have---shane needs to wrry about andre berto--i feel he will fight floyd next year or maybe even at the end of this year--we'll see---floyd schools him either way--prime or not---floyd is levels above him overall skillwise---

What is confusing about " I want to fight Pacquiao first"?

If you wanted to see Shane fight so badly, maybe you should have told him to skip that vacation/dental appointment and take the Mayweather fight.

the reality of the matter is no matter who is will fight next, he will AUTOMATICALLY be 'ducking" another fighter....FACT.

The Marquez performance has the Pacquiao fans a bit panicked.

maybe you should tell him...being that you know what his ppv has been for his last 20 fights, how many st. ides endorsements he has, how much his wife is gonna get him for in court, and how many rap videos he's been in...i mean why would he listen to me?...i'm just a fan who wants to see even matchups...
