so now nobody comes to see shane fight?...especially blacks....i guess because he split with the wife he lost his korean support too huh...?

ok now when you say shane mosley doesn't have a presence in the urban community, exactly what do you mean....because i live in newark, nj, and last i checked, none of these black fighters come to my community...only one i can think of who actually visited the community is roy jones...prudential center has been hosting adamek's fights, but thats a room full of whites outside of the boxing clubs...please provide this data i want to see this...
When i say 'black community", I don't mean LITERALLY the hood like Bricktown or Bed-stuy.

Shane isn't ever in the R&B/Rap/Music scene. Or on AA-oriented media outlets. I didn't see any involvement from SM during the ***** campaign. I visit all types of blog sites. The only time I saw Shane was when he was in ring after a Floyd fight. Shane fought Collazo and drew flies. Shane fought Tony in cali and it was all Mexixan. Shane fought Miguel at MSG and it was ALL PR. Even Zab had more AA's supporting.

Still, I will gladly listen to the statistics that demonstrate Shane's appeal to the AA community....or to the casual/mainstream fan at large.

Separate your emotions from the facts. Please.

The Korean golddigger comment was a joke. Clearly.

Personally? I think SM is on hGH anyway. That is my opinion. So, he can still take whatever he needs.

Shane doesn't have BIG support in the black community anymore...he's past his prime

How were they smaller than him? At the weigh-in they were middleweights...

Baldomir weighed 162 fight night against Floyd...does that mean Baldomir can fight at middleweight?

                2. The fact is Hopkins is one of the few fighters who actually entered boxing at one division, then scale down TWO divisions. Srl, Srr, not even Hagler scaled down divisions, only up (except for hagler of course). I can't think of any other fighter who has done this. You watch his 90's fights and see how much stronger he is than his opposition, then come see me.

                3. True, but if you are dominating a weak division, whats the sense of staying and rotting there, especially if you know you belong at 168 or 175. At 168 he had plenty of name fighters he could have staked his claim against and received plenty of props for beating. Hopkins was rotting at 160 until that middleweight tournament came long. That was his saving grace.

                4. Fought Allen 3 times, with the first being in '98. Look at how he ran Allen over in the rematch and in subsequent fights with Simon Brown, Bo James, Antuan Echols, and get back at me.
                1. Your full of **** if you don't think most boxers are hypocrites...Floyd is one of the biggest himself

                2. Who gives a ****? The man can make 160...he's been fighting at 160 for years...we don't judge fighters on how much they gain overnight...would you like to dig up all the fighters who jump up 10-15 pounds overnight? Have fun

                3. He stayed at 160 to make history with title defenses...no one told Oscar and Tito to move up...wat was so special about 168?

                4. No one considers those guys great wins on his resume so why are you mentioning them?

Lol...so now shane has to have a certain "connection" to black people to get the best deal for himself in a boxing match?

explain this to me al, because last time i checked, mosley was/is a middle-class kid from pomona, ca that hung out with more latins than blacks...he hung out with oscar de la hoya when they were kids and had more of a following with latins than with blacks from the jump...now if this is the case, wouldn't his connection with the black community as it relates to his ppv appeal reflect that? why should shane mosley be forced to be something he apparently is not? thats just like when hammer tried to go gangster...it didn't work...

moreover, it was quite obvious to me from the way he spoke in front of the cameras that he isn't straight hood like mayweather, who likes to flash all his dough in front of the cameras like a modern day ignorant coon, who acts like he never counted over ten dollars in his life...mayweather gets a pass with the suits though doesn't he al, because his street cred and his ppv is peaking...

so tell me this al, since you are such a well versed businessman, what happens when floyd and shane can't fight like they used to and you can't squeeze another ppv buy out of 'em...do they become just, statistics?

                    1. Floyd made one fight with a grossly smaller man, but history is on Floyd's side because he's made a career out of fighting men his size and bigger, hopkins made a career out of fighting smaller men. Hopkins of all people has no reason to talk about any fighter fighting a smaller man here and there.

                    2. Just face it man the fact remains Hopkins is a scaled down Lightheavy who beat up on middles. The only people who don't care are his delusional nutthugging fans.

                    3. We ain't talking about Oscar and Tito, they were still welterweights for christ sake. Hopkins career spans way before Oscar and Tito decided to move up. You do realize that don't you? We talking about Hopkins beating up on a weak division in the 90's when he could have moved up and fought some stiffer name competition that was closer to his size. If you can't understand that just say so.

                    4. Please man Hopkins fans crow about all of those overrated wins on Eastman, De La Hoya, Antuan Echols, Morrade Hakkar, where Hopkins is 15X stronger. Thats how he racked up those 20 overrated defenses any damn way. Beating up on Johnson was his biggest excuse for not rematching Jones. Hell Johnson was a nobody until he ko'd Jones.
