If Pacquiao beats Cotto, is it a bigger accomplishment then anything Floyd has done?

this is actually a very good thread and credit to the threadstarter. imo floyd's best win is over DLH at 154, pbf himself is a natural 140lber so he went two weight classes up and beat a guy who was top 10 p4p (and possibly top5) at the time. now pacman imo is a natural 135lber so he too is fighting a top 10 p4p guy two weight classes above his natural weight.

the similarities between pbf/DLH and pacman/cotto are uncanny, both are smaller fighters taking on guys who are top 10 p4p themselves, two weight classes above their natural weight. i think if pacman wins you would have to look at:

    a) how he won, by UD or KO

    b) is cotto ranked higher now than DLH was when he was at 154

i think what is also worth remebering is that pbf took on DLH on DLH's terms (i.e. glove size, ring size etc) whereas pacmans team seem to have had a much bigger say in negotiations with cotto than pbf did with DLH.

HUGE accomplishment for sure, but not bigger than anything Floyd has done. Floyd did alot in the lower weight classes earlier in his career.

A guy standing at 5'6" coming through 7 weight divisions and beating one of the strongest and most skillfull welterweights in his prime? it would easily be a better acomplishment.

Mayweather would need to beat a top light-middleweight to better that.

it's a bigger victory than any of Floyd's.

IMO, the win over the undefeated, prime ricky hatton > pacman beating cotto 2009
                Or that....lol

That was murderers row back when Pac was struggling with Agapito Sanchez...

Paq went after the usual suspects AFTER their heydeys. Couldnt beat Marquez decisvely. But somehow managed to get to #1 P4P status. LOL

                  Thanks alot *******s.

Why are floyd fans so ignorant on boxingscene, that one ******ed poster bragged about Mayweather beating Marquez at WW. What a dumb ass! Why don't you stop smoking the crack buddy? Beating Marquez and Hatton at ww isn't ****. And why don't you post with your normal account instead of your bs alt account? ****ing coward, like we can't tell your an alt with your ignorant comments.

Didnt Floyd and Oscar both start out at super feather weights??
Oscar wasnt in his prime vs Floyd.
Hatton was vunerable and barely won against Collazo. He was the smaller man.

I think Cotto was always a much bigger opponent than Pac.
Cotto is not damaged goods. He is the best WW.
Floyd hasnt fought a single top WW.

I think its a bigger acomplishment. Just because Cotto poses a genuine threat.
Floyd could have been outpointed by Oscar but KO'd at any time? No one believed that.

Cotto could put Pac away at any moment if he catches him right. Pac could win 11 rounds and theres still the danger of getting stopped.
