Yeah he did get a gift that night. That was a disgraceful robbery. I’m sure the judges shamefully scored it like 9-3 to Benavidez as well.

He did put things right in the rematch though. I’ll give Benavidez some credit for that.

Really? I had it 8-4 Gavril plus the knockdown if I remember correctly. I haven’t watched it for years but I was fuming after that fight, I felt it was a bad robbery at the time.

It was a competitive fight and was not at all a hard knockdown. It was a knockdown but he definitely was not hurt in the least.

I think the more important thing to consider is that in the immediate rematch it was not even close and Gavril got pretty much bested in all aspects of that fight.
