How come people hate Mayweather on here so much?

he got a hugely positive response at the bar that was showing Mayweather-Marquez, and other people that talk about him are really interested in his fights and most of them want him to remain unbeaten.

well ok, Ive been on boxingscene long enough to hear the millions of reasons why so many people dislike him...but its just kind of odd that this site is so largely anti Mayweather when all the casual fans really seem to like him.

Casual fans dont realize that JMM is a light weight.. they dont understand that Floyd is a WW and claims to be the GOAT yet wont fight a WW....casual fans dont realize what a cherry picker he has become since leaving 135.... they dont realize that he disses other fighters but wont step in the ring with them.. they hear him say" no matter who they put in front me, of they cant beat me" thinking he is fighting legit opponents...... they think boxing is more organized like football or basketball......they think the fights that are on PPV or HBO must be legit if its actually happening...

Even though I believe Floyd is back to take on top WW's, and/or Pac, this is a pretty solid response.

          won 40 (KO 25) + lost 0 (KO 0) + drawn 0 = 40
          rounds boxed 287 : KO% 62.5

I dont hate FLOYD. I respect him and his skills which are amazing. My thing about Floyd is that after the 2nd Castillo fight up until the Oscar fight, the level of competition and fights he chose to accept are not lb 4 lb material.

No doubting his skills but I doubt his desire to seek the fighters and challenges that hardcore fans want. No mistake about it, Floyd has been selective in opponents but that does not mean that he deserves to be disrespected.

Truth is, if Mayweather takes on Pacquiao next. That would only mean Pacquiao beat Cotto, Pacquiao would have already established himself as a WW.

This board represents about the top 5% of boxing fans, and the top 1% of mainstream/casual fans. We are the type of fans that know how much a boxer owes to JPMorgan Chase. We know boxers' wives names.

To the casual fan, floyd is a recognizable face, abd a great boxer. he is "a name". The guy from DWTS, WWE and the AT&T commercial. Even to the hip-hop community, his videos are on WSHH. The casual fan doesn't have the jealousy and hatred of the average NSB poster.

The average sports fan hears about michael vick, pete rose, Plaxico Burress, pacman jones, etc. They don't associate Floyd with that kind of negativity.
