Shady Al refused to at least be transparent, so the fight is off. Screw Spence and all of his low IQ muppet fans. Earl needs Crawford. Crawford doesn't need him. Bud has been undisputed already. Earl has been at 147 since 2012.

I’m a big Crawford fan as well but I can’t support this decision, I get the financial security element but damn, the last thing Crawford needed was to waste more of his prime fighting lower/fringe top 10 guys.
The GREAT Ortiz Jr is the no 1 WBO ranked and previous mandatory but his team x2 has refused to put in the paperwork to call for his mandatory. What part of the memo did you miss? There is your young stud to beat Crawford but his team won't put in him the ring with him. Instead he puts in paperwork to fight Stanley for the WBA mandatory. I guess you missed the memo too. The GREAT Ennis is behind the GREAT Ortiz. Slot opened but his team won't put in the paperwork When did undisputed lineal veterans chase contenders and prospects when GREAT contenders and prospects just have to put in the work vs. trying to make themselves mandatory the other guy on the other side of the street, Guess that memo was missed too.

Keef - I only fight Crawford 10 million guaranteed. Bet he isnt getting that for Spence
Danny - I'll fight setups at 154 before I get stopped by Crawford and Crawford was going to stop him just for the crap his coke head dad speaks
Porter - Took the stoppage and the other the money

Who is left outside of the GREAT who won't submit their paperwork for the mandatory but will talk on social media all day?

Looks like one of the old sports' sayings for those who actually played competitive sports. Skill recognizes skill.

Offering a person no guarantee and only upside when most dont buy ppv & no one on the fight card can sell or ever sold 500k plus is an insult. No guarantee purse for a fight that will sell only enough to break even is a very shhh deal. Wilder not a draw dude just did 75k for his last fight. Errol never did above 300k sure crawford sells bout like wilder in a non fury fight but goodness pbc stop acting like yall have canelo or aj signed to yall. Make the fight 7.5m a piece plus revenue 50/50 & if get outbid yall got such but atleast could save face for trying. Stop living off mayweather hes been retired for a while yall look like the Dallas cowboys or ny knicks living off the glory days when not done none at all recently.

This fight (vs Spence) not happening is almost criminal if it weren't typical.

Avanesyan is obviously an opponent Crawford knows he can dominate completely, attempting to make a statement win - and although 'Bud' is widely regarded as an exceptional talent, I cannot recall a fight in which there was excitement or doubt about the outcome.

His resume IMO is lacking; Spence's is slightly better - do we have that now all too familiar situation in which neither fighter is prepared to risk coming off second best at this stage in their careers, so it will only happen once both fighters are well past their primes, and the outcome won't affect future earnings and prestige.

The problem is many fans would still follow either fighter regardless of the result - the opposite could potentially manifest where a trilogy is established, because a fight between these two could only be close.

As someone pointed out earlier, Ortiz Jr is the WBO Home ( a ranking almost always vacant ), and if bud believes he is as good as many pundits claim, he should know that he could outbox Ortiz Jr, further cementing and proving he deserves the accolades bestowed upon him.

Taking the Avanesyan fight is a poke in the eye to fans after much excitement and anticipation of the Spence fight, and what he ought to have done was take a riskier fight to prove he is willing to take on the big boys.

I don't know who is to blame here for this fight not materialising, but I've always been cynical about PBC and Haymon.

What a dump these two have taken on the sport.

It's true Bud was undisputed at 140, but I would argue he got really lucky with the opponents holding the belts he needed. Indongo? Postol? Molina Jr? not exactly murderers row.

As a fan I want to see Crawford in there with the very best. Of course, it's not entirely his fault living in a division ruled by PBC and shady Haymon, but he does have the necessary pull and power to demand what opponents he wants.

Avanesyan is 3 levels below Crawford, who already has a resume that is in serious need of some gig name scalps.

            Just saying is all.

Some could be mistaking purse with ppv revenue is not same thing ,fighters purse has to be guaranteed not ppv income cause nobody can predict the exact number ppv sales especially with today 8% inflation thats why top ppv fights struggling to barely make 1m , its shame bud pulled out fight they would've made decent ppv 700k at least ,no way bud making that against avanesyan no fkn way.

Crawford is so gifted, but he is a horrible business man. He fought over purse parity and lost out on the Pacquiao fight. Now he messed up this fight. Mayweather was the B side with Oscar and afterward he never made less than 20 million for a fight. Crawford is a moron. He should make this fight happen. Spence made the Garcia and the Pacquiao fights. Crawford is the reason the fight did not happen. He could he the best boxer since Whitaker but now he is approaching middle age. Will probably never achieve top 30 all time greatness and he could have.

Spence/Garcia did 360k plus sold 47,575 tickets in a sold out football stadium. Make the fight 50/50? This is a business not a charity

I am very sorry to any Crawford fan. Seriously, rooting for this guy must be one of the toughest to root for in sports right now.

I used to be a fan of this guy in what feels like a lifetime ago (back when he beat Postol and before). Now I can’t imagine cheering for him ever again.

In fact he could retire today and relatively few fans would care. Who would miss his 2-3 good matchups per decade?

                      Let’s see…

                      2010s - Postol, Beltran, Burns.
                      2020s - Porter…

I can’t believe Ring and TRB reward this guy with high rankings. He really thinks he’s the sh/t because journalists rate him so high. That dude isn’t liked much by the actual fans who aren’t into writing bullsh/t and just watch fights.
