I have to somewhat disgree. Pac takes risks with his punches but that has been one of his biggest strengths against boxers, they don't expect punches to be delivered they way he does. Floyd has phenominal defense and reflexes but those reflexes are used to blocking the more orthodox punches (as are most boxers) and those 2nd nature movements are damn hard to correct. There ain't beating PBF at his own game (ring smarts/countering) as JMM proved but sometimes the best plan is to follow one's instincts as Pac does.

That's why the thought of this fight interests me so much, they're both the (perhaps) the pinnacle of their craft. PBF is the defensive, intelligent, refined boxer; pac is the offensive, instinctual, unpredictable fighter(not just a brawler anymore).

I luv u brain dead Floyd stans who always bring up Pac has no defense. His defense is mainly his offense. He creates openings based on his constant attacking and feinting. His opponent has no idea if they should block or attempt to punch back because they are in fear of what they are going to get in return. I don't know how often you watch a Pacquiao fight, but if you watch him closely, he has a lot of finer subtle movements that throw his opponent off. Mostly in his body movement which is awkward and the constant feigns he applies early on to confuse his opponent. Pac doesn't need defense like Floyd, when he's constantly on the attack confident in his workrate and power which seems to work out pretty damn good.

Much easier for a south paw to land right hooks against Mayweather, especially one as athletic as Pacquiao. Also, Manny Pacquiao's 5'6 height would be VERY beneficial, in that, like Jesus Chavez, who is short; Pacquiao will be able to land over the top with the right hook.
Jesus Chavez is an inch shorter than Pacquiao but incredibly according to boxrec JC has the same arm reach as Mayweather. If that stat is accurate then your comparison is invalid because Pacquiao's arm reach is 5 inches shorter, same as JMM.

For Pacquiao to have any chance of hitting Mayweather he would need to get in close, fire a combination, and step out quickly. Considering Mayweather's incredibly fast reflexes and solid defense it'd be almost impossible for Pacquiao to hit Mayweather.

The main reason JMM didn't get knocked out by Mayweather was because he was barely doing anything. Pacquiao is much more aggressive and will give Mayweather plenty of opportunity to knock him out.

update: In the JC vs Mayweather fight JC's reach is listed as 65", however Boxrec and HBO has him listed at 72".

Pacquiao's rhythm and athletic ability are not the easiest things in the World to get to grips with, if they were he would not have got by MAB, Morales, Marquez etc etc. You dont get by those types of fighters with the kinda skill he had!! unless you are very! athletic and your unorthodoxy works in your favour. Its okay thinking Floyd will get Pacs rhythm down and start peppering him with shots, but if Pac was that easy to time how come Morales, MAB, Marquez could not get out of the straight left hand of this one "dimensional Southpaw" because he nailed all of them with it.

Sosa also gave Mayweather trouble with his unorthodoxy.

Its like this when you are trained to calculate everything that a conventional fighter throws at you it can throw you off when you have someone like Sosa, Maussa, in there with you because they dont throw punches the way you expect them to throw, only Manny is 3 times the fighter those guys are so i dont see why so many people think Mayweather would get his timing down and pick him apart.

Pacquiao is also left handed, Mayweather has been hit more against Southpaw's than anyone.

If Manny beats Cotto and looks good i dont see why it should not happen, i dont care what anyone says when all said and done Pac is more of an athlete than Marquez, not past his best and has good hand speed, left handed stance on his side, even if Floyd would won it would be fairly competitive imo.

You know your a buddy of mine Dominicano Soy! but i do have to worry about your agenda, why are you so pro this fight should happen? are you doing it because deep down you know Mayweather will win or because you honestly believe Pac has a real chance?
No because I really do see this as a fight that can go either way. People are basing their oppinion on Marquez vs Mayweather, which doesn't make sense. By the way, I've been saying this since the Hatton fight. Thanks for the insight man.

I think that was a close fight but faces don't tell anything.

Would you say Escobedo beat Katsidis cause of how Katsidis face looked? Katsidis pitched a virtual shut out.

And in Malignaggi vs Cotto you would'a never thought to see the scorecards 115-112 for Cotto with the way Paulie's face looked.

And about Pacquiao vs Mayweather, I don't think Pacquiao will be able to hurt Money. Mayweather will outbox Manny but i think this fight won't be boring at all. It will end in decision but i sense it'll be a very exciting fight cause of Pacquiao forcing the action, or at least trying to.

Yeah nice one. Was not trying to have a go or anything i was just curious to know what your motives where, not so i could call you a fanboy or anything just to know whether you genuinely think he has a chance, coming from a balanced Mayweather fan it holds more water.

Truth is, Pacquiao would have badly beated that Marquez. Some people are trippin.
