I knew the short notice could possibly be a mistake. Maybe he needed to payday though.

I called it that Figueroa was going to get stopped. His last fight he looked horrible and his career of throwing so many unbalanced punches while taking directs hits just simply shortens careers.

His brother has shown a better chin and stamina but that won't last as he has been going up in weight. Once that chin is cracked it won't hold up again and those two have not shown that they can fight any different.

Panterita should just hang em off, dude is beyond shot, cost of having no D whatsoever, brandon should take note to avoid his brother mistakes in the ring

I tip my hat to him for taking this fight but it was all wrong for him
I think he would of gotten the better of Broner without doubt but not against Lipinets
Omar needs to think about his future right now
Agreed. Styles make fights and Figueroa would have had a better chance against Broner. Omar has a chin and throws volume, a bad matchup for Broner's half a dozen punches per round output.

Lipinets is a different beast altogether and a very bad matchup for Figueroa. On a side note, I felt for Omar..you could see his confidence go and he ceased being competitive. He was just there taking a bad beating for so many rounds.

That was the only reason’s I was ok with Omar fighting Broner , cause of the output
But against Lipinets , everyone but Omar and co , knew he was a pressure fighter who is willing to fight at a high pace
I knew he would overwhelm him and as usual Figueroa style , just be there to absorb shots which at this point in his career is not a good thing ( mental illness etc etc )

Panterita won the interim WBC 135lb title against Arakawa (great fight), got upgraded when Broner left the division, then he defended against Belmontes/Estrada. After that, he couldn't make 135 any longer and fought Burns at 140. Omar had a title for one year, and it wasn't exactly defended against top-tier opposition.

Maybe Brandon has certain qualities that will allow him to be more successful than Omar.
