Someone predicting Shields knocking Marshall down twice, then out! Has Shields ever knocked anyone down? Good boxer, but couldn't bust a g****. She's the one who will spend time on the floor. Nash out.

First off, congratulations in getting a former champion in your stable! Question, will he be training in Philly or will you be going to Vegas?

Red - who is the former champ?

Boxing is meant to be a contest of skills. I hate this 'I'm willing to die in the ring' nonsense. We aren't talking about fighting for Ukraine or for civil rights, no-one should die practising their sport. Also, it is nonsense. Any boxer can say 'I'm willing to die in the ring', its just some more words. I would much rather they say 'I'm going to execute our strategy & win'.

In my (sadly) long life I can remember 4 boxers who genuinely would've died rather than lose (1) Muhammad Ali (2) Matthew Saad Muhammad (3) Dennis Andries (4) Evander Holyfield.

        (1) Ali was convinced he was fighting for something more than himself. He was fighting for civil rights & for the rights of poor people across the world. This was tricky because, of course, most of his opponents were black American like himself. I could understand him attacking George Foreman, who had waved a 'stars & stripes' flag at the Olympics. Much as I love Ali, when he demeaned the great Joe Frazier as an 'Uncle Tom' that was a de****able dirty slur. It does explain the way Ali was, however. He would fight til he died because he believed he was a soldier in a great struggle.

        (2) Very few boxers are from a privileged background, but MSM's background was poor beyond what most of us could even contemplate. He was willing to die in the ring because he had been traumatised by his experiences on the street. He would've killed or died or done anything rather than go back to those streets.

        (3) Dennis came up the hard way, fighting on small-hall shows. To be kind, he wasn't sleek & the fans laughed uproariously at his attempts at boxing. I've heard that Mickey Duff actually offered Dennis money to quit, just because he made everyone look so bad. As he moved up, from British to European to World, Dennis rose above the jeers but I don't think he ever forgot them. Dennis was a massive, unbelievably powerful, man but such men are often surprisingly sensitive. I think Dennis decided that no pain inflicted by punches, even unto death, could possibly compare to the pain of ridicule. That is why, after being beaten almost to death by Tommy Hearns, he walked into Kronk gym & asked Emmanuel to train him.

        (4) Evander was successful from young. He won a Silver in the Olympics & became Cruiserweight champion with one very brutally hard fight & otherwise a lot of easy KOs. I don't know why Evander seems so willing to risk death. You would think he would want to go home to one of his 7 wives & 38 children (or whatever). I can't understand Evander but then I generally can't understand American Evangelical Christians. Maybe he thinks it will be God's will (Inshallah)?

Luis Ortiz's style ages better than Andy Ruiz's style?

Andy is only 32. King Kong is 43.
