Yeah he needs to let that go. Until Canelo moves away from matchroom and back to pbc it’s not going to happen with any pbc fighter.

The case with Bivol was not mobility, Canelo “landed” plenty of power shots on Bivol’s gloves and elbows. Canelo also caught Bivol with a few clean uppercuts that did nothing to Bivol. Bivol wasn’t even as mobile than those aforementioned fighters, let alone more mobile.
Bivol’s MAIN advantage was his SIZE as a true LHW and HEIGHT, in relation to his skills. A 5’8” Bivol wouldn’t have the success he had. Plain and simple.
Yes, I get it, Canelo was 180lbs and Bivol was 180lbs. But just like Qawi vs Foreman and Holyfield, while they were all around the same weight, it doesn’t change the fact that Qawi was too small for Foreman at HW and Holyfield at Cruiserweight. A 5’5” guy at CW and HW, no matter if he’s 300lbs, is still way out of his league versus the ELITE there.
Canelo could have been 200lbs vs Bivol’s 183lbs as his critics want to convince everyone was the case, Bivol was still too big for Canelo.
The blueprint is out there now of how to beat Canelo!! Canelo likes to think of himself as a pressure fighter but Bivol (and to a lesser extent Golovkin) showed you just have to circle him as he comes forward lol. Canelo's feet are so slow that once his forward momentum is cut out by a circular movement around him, he has no answer and is open to shots from angles which he can't defend against lol.

Canelo has beaten bigger men before but their skill was limited and they were hesitant to let their hands go. They also let Canelo dictate the pace. Bivol didn’t. He controlled the fight with his boxing skills and refusal to allow Canelo to get the last punch in exchanges. Honestly, it looks like you’re just making excuses because I don’t see any Canelo fans saying that the main reason that he beat guys like khan and Cotto was because of his size, and in those cases he significantly outweighed both.

Canelo is B+ fighter, the difference is Bivol picked him up into little pieces little by little.
The added weight, and we don't know just how much he weighed when he entered the ring, appeared to weigh him down.
Whatever the case was Bivol was a cool, calm, and collected technician in the ring with a laser focus with the job at hand.
He must've felt some of Canelo punches, but it wasn't enough to slow, or stop his forward progress.
Canelo didn't fight as badly as many have stated, but when Bivol had his moments they were impressive to watch.
Bivol's resistance to punches, his fluid combination's, and his his command of movement, and distance in the fight were masterful.
If They would've been the same height Bivol would've had to fight harder, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't have won, because he looked like he still had another gear.
Qawi was a human dynamo in the ring, I really enjoyed watching him fight all of those tall fighters , and how he broke them down.

That fight was won purely by the utilisation of superior skills and nothing else. Bivol's guard was so tight that even when Canelo did manage to connect with uppercuts, there was no real force on them because he had to direct the shot so accurately between the guard. In addition where most fighters launch one phase of attack at a time, Bivol was launching up to 4 phases in one sequence - this caused Canelo to use more movement than usual and got him tired quickly. Again, a purely skill related attribute - nothing at all to do with size.

The biggest take away from this particular fight was that Canelo got outmaneuvered, out boxed, out punched, and at the end of a fight that spells defeat.
All these excuses that Canelo's followers are making just shows you how delusional they are when it comes to supporting him.
Now I will say this that just because the blueprint is out there on how to defeat him, it doesn't mean that all other fighters can execute it, but a few will for sure.
It appears that time, and his ambitions are catching up to Canelo, by this time next year he might have another loss or two on his record, if he's still fighting.Last edited by Boricua181; 06-03-2022, 02:34 AM.
