Gayweather got punked by Margarito, he ducked a De la Hoya rematch, he ducked Sergio Martinez and GGG. He ducked Kostya Tszyu and Paul Williams. He cherry picked his way to that 49-0.

I just think it’s odd. His American profile has decreased since he went off HBO. No one mentions him when his fights are within a week out in the media and no one I know asked me about his opponents except when he fought plant and that fight and it’s buildup was accessible to the public

The problem I have with this is Canelo fought Khan, who hadn’t earned that fight either.

It looks bad to suggest men that have a better chance to beat Canelo have to “earn” the fight when he willingly fights lesser opponents like khan.

Charlo tried to fight Munguia and GGG. That’s not his fault. But yeah, no one is fighting Andrade and Haymon is holding off on charlo/Benavidez .

I agree about the Khan fight, like Kell Brook moving up to fight GGG neither fight was in doubt and didn't need to happen. It's really no different when Mayweather or Pac were the face of the sport guys had to earn it. My problem is what has Charlo, Andrade or Benavidez done recently? Charlo was great at 154 but that was a quite a while ago. Andrade may as well be a ghost at this point with his opposition.

That’s 1 welterweight too many. Just because he did it once, doesn’t mean he should continue fighting welterweights. Especially since he no longer has catchweight fights at 155lbs like he did when he fought Khan. Khan had to move up 8lbs for that fight. That is not a lot of weight. About the same as JMM moved up to fight Mayweather at 144lbs from 135 (9lbs).

But to call for a 147 fighter now vs a Canelo who campaigns at 168-175, that’s just crazy. Do you care about Spence’s wellbeing? Why the heck would any Spence fan want that fight? I am both a Spence fan and a Canelo fan and I would give Canelo zero credit for that win. Just like I ignore listing his Khan win as a good win.

I do not even like the Charlo fight because Charlo hasn’t really even beaten that many good fighters at 160. He just has Derevyanchenko which is a great win but that’s it.

These are some weird fights some of you are calling for. Like they are not even a little bit challenging. You guys should be calling for Beterbiev and Smith Jr. And stretching it, I would say Mairis Breidis. But Spence and Charlo? I know Benavidez is green as fck but even him I get it, he fights at 168. But Errol Spence? That would be extremely disappointing. And I can’t see how Canelo critics would ever let that one go. I can’t even see them getting over Charlo at 168, let alone Spence.

The issue with some fans calling for these fights is that they’re only doing it because those fighters are undefeated. That 0, whether fans admit it or not, means everything to them. Which is why fighters like Mayweather and Calzaghe were so despised by some groups of fans.

Charlo hasn’t done sh/t at 160 except beat Derevyanchenko. But his 0 means the world to some Canelo critics.

What has Benavidez done at 168 other than get put on his ass by Gavril and lose to him but get a gift decision, beat an old Anthony Dirrell, and lose his already undeserving titles all on his own? Nothing, he has an 0 and talks a lot of trash. His mediocre resume doesn’t matter. And him still being too green doesn’t matter. When Mayweather critics were calling for him to fight Canelo, saying he was ducking him and scared of him, they did not care that Canelo was green and not ready for Mayweather. They just cared about his 0 and his KO’s. After the fight, he was green. This will happen to Canelo with Benavidez. Everyone is pushing for the fight now but after the fight (if it happens in 2023) they will say Benavidez was a green fighter.

Andrade, I don’t really have anything to say about him other than, again, they just see his 0. That’s all. None of these Canelo critics care how mediocre his resume is or how mediocre he looks vs his mediocre opponents. They just see his 0 and hype him up even though he has ducked some really good fighters in the last 10 years like Lara, Charlo, and Zhanebik. They don’t care about who Andrade has ducked, they just see that someone with an 0 on his record is calling out Canelo and they are hyping it up.

I’m not calling for Spence v Canelo but I’d like to see Canelo fight the Spence/Crawford winner if he was still at 160.

I don’t look at fights based on opponents. I look at styles and attributes. Why? Because we know every guy doesn’t get an equal chance to fight guys.

Like with Charlo. I understand people want to see him beat better guys to get a Canelo fight. But the better MW -like GgG- aren’t going to risk losing to him before they fight Canelo. So what does he do?

No mw or smw will fight Andrade. So how does Andrade earn a fight if they all avoid him?

I don’t know if these fights will be challenging or not. Doesn’t mean I don’t think canelo will lose because I don’t. I just still want to see the fights.
