Floyd Mayweather was extremely lucky against Ricky Hatton

Just rewatched that fight and I forgot how well Ricky did.

After six I had it 4-2 Hatton.

But the real reason Ricky lost is clearly Joe Cortez's sheer incompetence. Not only in the fact that he allowed Floyd to choke Ricky with elbows on the inside, but for failing to see that it was Floyd, not Ricky, doing all the holding.

The point deduction in the 6th was the turning tide, it was here that Ricky's spirit was taken from him upon realizing that Joe was going to screw him.

Mayweather was getting caught easily by left hooks and jabs and was clearly bothered with the pressure.

Joe Cortez needs to be banned from the sport.

Hatton won rounds 2 and 5 only. The 5th round was actually a gift, Mayweather didn't care to lose that round. He allowed Hatton to pound away at his guard.
