NSB Pick Em 2022 MASTERTHREAD

OKay Tatabanya - it's looking like we got a notable few differences in our scores. It's entirely likely they;re at my end because I've been finding it hard work today but I'm not going to try and nail em down now, gotta get the youngest to bed in a few minutes.

I'm noticing we got MulaKO (you got him 50 points higher) you got DrHouse 40 points higher (I think that might be a multiplier issue) and you got Iddunoshet 10 points higher - that's probably just one of us got a method or detail input wrong.

EDIT: I was just gonna say Baltimore's way out too... but I just noticed he was at the very end of the Picks on the Bivol card... I guess I was in such a hurry to get done I miised him... lemme get that done now! Mmm - we're still a little off but that's mainly his x3 to a x2 from a previous thread and also his x2 on Bivol got demoted to a x1.

I bet I've miised one of Mula's picks too but I'll have to sort that one out later.

If you get a chance I'd appreciate you just going through to see if there's any other discrepencies. If you got time to figure out when they crept in then cool but otherwise I'll figure it tomorrow or as soon as I get a chance.

I'll wait to update the front page leaderboard until we got them resolved.

Ha ha - Cameroon.. Damn my brain's seriously fried today. OK anyway, got your perfect added in to my spreadsheets and the leaderboard and tally above. You want to be looking at using those x5s you been hoarding though man. You land even 1 of those and you're home clear I reckon.

EDIT: Damn I got her nmae wrong on the Pick Em thread too. Weird. Only connection I got with Cameroon is I once had to transcribe and input a sheaf of handwritten recipes from rural Cameroon for a comparative dietary study with diets in African Caribbeans in Manchester - but that was like 25 years ago.

Yeah and I copied it for the fight videos, that is where I noticed it and found it funny. Lot of people also used it for their picks

x5s are curse when you are leading. I was considering them for Barrett and McCaskill (I thought Barrett is superior boxer) and this risk aversion saved me (for now). Don't know if I will use them at all

No worries Tat, you've been an absolute godsend this year.. I genuinely can't thank you enough and you already went above and beyond. This kinda backtracking and going through old results is honestly a massive pain in the ass but I've done it enough times that I at least got a method and a process to follow so it'll be much easier for me anyways.

Stuff like this is of course the reason I go to the extra effort of compiling the seperate tallies and score tables - it just makes it easier to track down and isolate errors - learned very early on it the first year that one of the most soul-destroying parts of it are realising you made a mistake somewhere but not having a way of easily figuring out where or when it happened.

I think that was kinda what had happened to BroBob... dude's tabulation got all messed up somehow and he had no means of going back to sort it without starting from scratch so he just kinda threw in the towel. Took me about 2 weeks pretty solid work to pull that back and figure out a more robust (although unfortunately more labour intensive) system.

OKay so it looks like everything was consistent up to the week of Martinez and Fundora in mid October. We start to go out of sync on the October Mega Pick Ems.

Where the minuses are when my results are lower than Tats and the plusses are when my results are higher than Tats

Okay so it looks like a bunch of those were my mistakes on the first thread of the October mega-Pick Em

I scored SceneBoxer 60 instead of 40 for a perfect on Shields and creditied him with 2 correct instead of just 1

Phew. Right. Bit of graft but at least we got em all nailed down.

Seems like the vast majority were either from people using multipliers they didn't have left - which is my fault for not keeping up with the leaderboard or from the first Mega Pick em where I made a whole bunch of mistakes. Seem to recall I was trying to hurry through one of the updates with my youngest clamouring for attention and tugging on my sleeve - I'm guessing it was that one..

Anyways... I got to get going now so I don't have time to get the leaderboard updated with the corrected information, also can't guarantee I'll have time before tonights fights (in fact I probably won't cos I gotta build a floating Pea**** for the Youth Club before tomnorrow a.m) but I will get it done at some point Saturday. Now I got all the info to hand it shouldn't take too long.

Thanks for everything you did today and said about my (to be improved) assistance, my friend. It has been a pleasure helping in some way. Indeed I could have never gone back to understand all those differences, for I don't keep track of the separate weekends' results as you do. Next year I will try to keep at least the multipliers up to date together with the points... and, especially, I promise to keep my x5s at least until the third month of the game!

BTW - if the corrected leaderboard shows just minor differences, needless to say I will keep doing the usual quick updates!
