I suspect that Charlo is being used to negotiate with GGG. The way Reynoso is talking...I'm betting they take GGG at a higher weight in a fight that plays like a drive by in LA.

Intent for GGG trilogy? The time to make that was three years ago. Too late now, GGG will be 40 soon, going up against a prime version of Canelo. Canelo needs to focus on Charlo, and the current champions at 175.

Canelo has seven fights that he can't go wrong with.

Charlo, Golovkin, Bivol. Smith, Beterbiev, Benvides, Andrade.

So he can’t fight Benavidez because he hasn’t beat anyone credible. But let’s fight a guy one weight class down who also hasn’t beaten anyone worth a F and had troubles in his last fight against a mediocre opponent then we’ll fight GGG when he’s 45 years old and maybe get one legitimate win against him. Fook a 3rd GGG fight. He’s done absolutely nothing for 3 1/2 years since losing to Canelo. There’s way more deserving fighters at 168 & 175.

Never forget , the same Canelo team (because I’m sure it’s Reynoso who’s been calling the shots for yrs)who said he needed years to grow from 155 to 160 to face Ggg would prefer if Charlo goes straight up 8 pounds to fight him at 168 despite the fact that he’s still the “franchise” champ at 160, and continues to benefit from having that “title” because of the ability to get any wbc title shot he wants. He also had no issue with Khan jumping up 8 pounds immediately and to further prove his hypocrisy, he himself jumped up more pounds than that when he knew the opposition was compromised. Been a master of minimizing risk and if he chooses the charlo fight at 168, it’s not when both were in the same weight class which is when it would’ve been ideal. It’s when the risk is less. With that being said, I still think Charlo poses a bigger threat than any of the guys he’s faced at 168. Just not as big a threat as Benavidez , beterbiev or Bivol.
