This excuse would actually be more believable compared to some of brain dead excuses he used. The costume thing was ridiculous but I still can’t believe how dirty he did Mark Breland to try and save face.

After the fight they said he had breathing issues. The issues were from a tear to his esophagus. Nothing was detected in pre-fight. Nobody said it wasn't caused in the fight, nor was any evidence presented which would say it was likely there before the fight.

(They were careful to include that the tear "could have" been there before the fight and might not have been detected. That's not the same, since, after catching a beatdown, most people would just sensibly assume that the beatdown did it.)
