I think he's right even Benavidez himself has said so in past. The bar is so low nowadays I'd be happy with Benavidez getting a win against David Lemieux . Charlo against Benavidez would be ideal but it won't happen .

Guys Rocky was his first fight at 168 just him testing the water's. Rocky does have some good wins in his resume btw. Also Yildrim was his Mandatory which is why he basically fought him while in Camp for his May bout against Billy lol

If Benavidez gets a good win or two and Canelo never fights him then yes we can give him all the **** for it. So far out of everyone in boxing Canelo deserves the benefit of doubt . Guy has a great resume

You’d have to be completely blinded to love to not acknowledge that his statement is straight BS. You can’t say Benavidez hasn’t earned it when none of Canelo’s opponents over the last 3 yrs have any elite wins nor would they be favored to beat Benavidez. They don’t want the fight because he’s too dangerous right now and a primary reason they decided to go to 168 to unify was because he got stripped.
I understand your frustration, but we do have to put some blame on Benavidez for ******* and missing weight! He's not only a danger to Canelo inside the ring, he's also a risk for the fight to happen as planned! Benavidez also caught Covid back in August! I agree with you, that Benavidez is a real threat, but I believe he needs to beat Charlo, Morrell Jr., or Browne (Should he beat Beterbiev) to get the fight!

When did this sport get taken over by Canelo worshippers????? If people actually say Benevidez hasn't deserved the shot at Canelo just shows everyone's bias. Whether you dislike or like Benevidez he is the #1 contender. The same people that are saying Benevidez doesn't deserve cause he's average are the same ones that had no issues with Yildrim and Fielding. When did this forum turn into casuals that only like the sport cause of Canelo?????? Anyone that knows anything about boxing knows Kovalev took a dive and was pulling his punches. I guess Benevidez isn't one of the handful of Canelo opponents that would agree to take a dive like Angulo, Chavez Jr. , Plant and Yildrim. This forum is sad now. Everyone buying the Canelo pipe dream. Casuals attracted to the sport because of Canelo now stick up for him as if he's there god I've never seen anything like this. Canelo can't do anything wrong in their eyes.

No..he doesn't, First Benavidez has to fight all the guys that he's ducked, then Canelo promised Yildrim a rematch at 182.

Bullshit! Do you mean like the same way he got to Demetrius Andrade and Jermall Charlo in due time; Two other undefeated fighters he ducked?

When a boxer can no longer make weight, by all means, move up, but stay there. Don't pick certain guys but then not face others. This picking and choosing sh.. is ruining the sport

Most people hyping up Benevidez have probably never really seen him fight.
He’s just the next guy the Canelo haters are latching onto.
The guy is trying to make a fight at cruiser weight against a guy that has legit power and is ranked #2.
Benevidez is just a tall guy that would get folded by Canelo. His last fight was very unimpressive. He’d be eating body shots from the opening bell.
Canelo is his own boss that has multiple options at all times.

Sad fact is that we all know lucre is what matters and Canelo, whatever you think of him, brings the loot. Canelo has attained the position whereupon securing a fight with him makes you life changing money. You can argue that fighting Makubu is a cherry pick, but I hardly think he's low-hanging fruit. He has 4 1/2 inches height on Canelo and 3 1/2 inches reach & he's a ****ing cruiserweight. Yeah he's nowhere near as skilled as Canelo, but who is up at the higher weights? Usyk maybe? Now I'm no fan boi... I had Canelo definitely losing the 1st fight to GGG and I can see arguments for other dodgy decisions that have gone his way. But to expect a man who's gotten himself into the position he has to seek out the fighter who can beat him rather than take on viable opponents that he reckons he can beat is nonsense. Just think what it would mean in terms of status and earning power for a fighter to beat him, it's the opportunity of a lifetime and it's up to the opposing fighter to give 110% to that. The guy is under 5'8" and is challenging a cruiserweight beltholder ffs, give him his props.

You call another man a b/tchmade coward. A professional boxer. A man who makes money by punching and getting punched, is a b/tchmade coward? Honestly, that is really how you want to describe a pro boxer like Canelo?

Did you see the massive power shots this guy took and gave back to GGG? How in the world can you watch Canelo vs GGG and call any of those men “b/tchmade cowards”?

You are really going to sit there and really call that man a “b/tchmade coward”?
So Canelo is going to kick my ass now because I called him out on his bullshit? Then tell him to go kick Mike Tyson's,Timothy Bradley's,and Antonio Tarver's ass too because they all agree with me and are saying the exact same thing. In addition, they are all professional fighters just like him fan boy!
