I think Floyd's racist comments and his treatment of women turned lots of fans off and hurt his legacy, but that's more about personality rather than boxing.

For what it's worth I think prime DLH also beats Manny but Manny had an exemplary run picking off marquee fighters right before their retirement. Grade A cherry picking !
      - -Manny moved up two divisions to take the same Oscar fight on short notice that little Floydy ducked in the middle of promotions, having a complete mental breakdown at his pitty party retirement press conference.

      Thanks for the reminder!!!

He will get credit as a great talent with a carefully managed career. His biggest problem is while he was Cherry Picking, Pacquiao was blowing through everyone and mounting a truly legendary run. Its really really hard to argue that Floyd has a greater legacy than Pacquiao, and the problem is that he could have had one of the greatest. The talent was around, he just waited until everyone was less than they were.

Immensely talented genius in the ring, but like Roy Jones Jr, the resume is thin for the talent he had.

Floyd is retired now, seems happier than ever (which is great to see) yet he still gets hate from all angles. True fight fans do appreciate him but like most all time greats it can be decades before they truly get the respect they deserve.

For me, Floyd is the greatest of my era (I am early 30’s,) he is a wizard in the ring and it really annoys me when people disrespect him. He has done so much for the sport

When do you think he will get the credit he deserves?
He also has to take responsibility for some of the damage he's caused the sport ...all the ducking and diving and no prospect fights getting made...if mayweather wasn't about crawford and spence would have most definitely fought by now

He never fought pacquiao in his prime which is kind of unforgivable for some people also

Never fought cotto, margarito or Paul Williams he ducked and dived them and didn't even care what the fans thought of it

he also did that fake ass retirement will the division was lit like no other

And he's responsible for exhibitions ..

He robbed people of money and the casuals bought his crap up but he's ruined it somewhat for the hardcore boxing fans without a doubt...I don't blame any hardcore fan for not liking Floyd the reasons are obvious

It's understandable why he ducked and dived and pretended to retire when the division was stacked with some great guys

He knew he had ability but he probably watched his dad and uncle getting kod on tape a few times and felt like it could have happened to him at some point and it nearly did against a 40 year old mosley

Hes only a man can't blame him for not being fearless

Tbe though? Not a chance hearns and Ray Leonard would have smashed him to pieces

manny was quite the matchmaker himself

Look at the condition of their mutual opponents at the time manny fought them

and compare it to how they were when Floyd ran up on them

Hit yourself on the head with a mallet, Oscar weighed less than Manny on fight night and was one of the worst cases of a dehydrated fighter ever. Oscar was 20 lbs bigger fighting Mayweather, do you have a clue the difference that makes, no you never boxed how the fck could you know.

The dumbness from you is on show whenever you spew sht about Mayweather.

Gtfoh. Hatton and Cotto weren't shopworn when Manny fought them. Floyd didn't fight the best guys until they were shopworn. Why you think he don't get much respect.

Another idiot, ALL common opponents claim Floyd the best they fought, maybe they know something you don't lol.

In the future they will be talking about Pac and Canelo and when they look they will see that both lost to Floyd.
