Pac's injury required surgery performed by one of the most respected surgeons in the world, Dr. Neal El Attrache, the President of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) who verified the severity of the injury. He is the same surgeon who has operated on Kobe Bryant(for a similar injury) and Tom Brady.

“We have an MRI scan that confirms he has a rotator cuff tear. He has a significant tear,” Dr. Neal ElAttrache told ESPN after the fight. ElAttrache said the injury will sideline the 36-year-old eight-division world champion for between nine and 12 months.

The initial rotator cuff injury(strain) during training camp also forced Pac to stop training for more than 2 weeks which interrupted his preparation for the fight against Mayweather. It became a full blown tear during the actual fight though which affected his performance.

Pac was well within his rights to call for a rematch because of that injury but Floyd never gave it to him. In retrospect Pac should have withdrawn from his fight with Floyd because of the handicap the initial training camp injury caused him.

I think spence should provide proof. Anyone can wrap a bandage around there head and take a picture. It might be a real injury but he should still prove it so he can wipe out the su****ion. To me, it seems odd. Pacquiao was going to kill him

But Bhop has a point. The whole thing happened too fast. And them not being able to state how the injury happened is pretty su****ious.

My guess is they knew about the injury way before they pulled out Spence. They were hoping that Spence would be fit enough for the fight. Ugas was going to be plan B.

Less than 2 weeks before the fight, Spence was obviously not fit enough so they went with their plan B.

The question is how long did they know about the injury. Because if they knew it before Manny was stripped and Ugas was made super champ, then that's some shady **** right there.
Doesn't it seem like they were going to do the same thing with Plant pulling out for Canelo? Otherwise, why would Canelo apparently blow up negotiations by asking for a guarantee if Plant pulls out?

What was with the media workout where they didn’t show Pac working out. Spence didn’t get one at all.

Spence Shows Proof Of His Surgery To Shutdown Critics

Errol Spence Jr came out today to show proof that his doubters were looking for that had surgery on his left eye on Wednesday. Fans on social media have been saying that IBF/WBC welterweight champion Spence “faked” his eye injury and that he dreamed it up to weasel out of the fight with Manny Pacquiao in August 21st because he was flat out scared to take his beating.

Spence (27-0, 21 KOs) shut down his critics today by displaying his bandaged left eye immediately after surgery. Spence, 31, didn’t have to do this, but he chose to because of the many people doubting his injury.

The fans needed proof that Errol Spence had an injury, and he gave it to them. After taking his injured left eye to three different doctors, ALL concluded that he had a retinal tear, and it needed to be surgically repaired ASAP.

Spence didn’t want to pull out of the fight with Manny, but he was forced to. If he had fought with his injured eye, it could have ended his career.

It’s disappointing that boxing fans are so jaded and mistrustful of fighters when they reveal that they’re injured. Things didn’t use to be like this.

You can argue that some boxing fans have been distrustful of fighters ever since Tyson Fury pulled out of his fight with Deontay Wilder scheduled for July 24th due to him having COVID-19.

i was thinking the same thing a few people here claim thats what them promotors do and now whenthis happens and that canelo thing happened , and iv loved floyd as fighter but as person listening to him speak every other day he is showing to be a complete fraud with the way he talks and acts and thats his team , so i have my doubts too, and its no secret that boxing is full of scum and corruption

Cool, I will admit it feels a little funny, but I love how people forgetting this guy was known for faking injuries.

First of all, a routine exam generally won’t yield this result. A fighter (like Abner Mares, like Ray Leonard) will complain about blurred vision or something not being right.

Secondly, Ugas already had left handed sparring partners in camp, even tho he was fighting a righty. Hmm…

Also, whenever someone sensationalizes a story, I’m always skeptical.

“I had THREE doctors all tell me”.

Three different doctors buddy? That fast, huh?

And then Ugas opponent get the SAME injury one day apart? BEWARE Manny!! You are being played my man!

                      It was a Franchise doctor.
