      imagine this scenario

al haymon, one of the most successful businessmen in boxing, is perusing the NBS forums...stumbles upon a post from some twat named "ThuglifeNelo"...."ThuglifeNelo" says "man that tank ppv flopped hahaha...terrible numbers".....haymon says to himself "you know what that guy is right...im never going to do another tank ppv...matter of fact i think im gonna go let him test the waters elsewhere..he aint getting a check from me"

hahaha yeah...that might happen! stay mad....you were deadwrong about plant....deadwrong about bivol/canelo...and i lost count on how many other things....like i said...if plant/canelo doesnt happen next and bivol/canelo does ill admit i was wrong and give you props....because im a man like that.....but id be willing to make that bet that i will have to do no such thing...and youll be wrong again

Shame that it will be on PPV.

The PPV model is dead. But if any active boxer can still sell good numbers, Canelo is among those handful of boxers. Very few of them. Probably 3-4.

I’m not missing this fight for sure. I will pony up the $70-80 it will cost. But I disagree with that model of airing fights.
kev i think youre a sharp dude and i usually agree with most of your takes even though youre a yankee fan lol

but...i may be way off here....but i think haymon disagrees with you on the ppv model being dead....i dont think hes going to stop anytime soon unless he sees a drastic change and hes losing big money...which i doubt will happen...

i could see that haymon could be stuck on something that he was wildly successful with earlier in his boxing foray....he became who he is because of ppv...he became a powerful man because of it...im willing to admit maybe the time has passed him and he may be holding on to something...i also think hes a pretty smart guy and if he thought it was dead or was going to be hed move away from it...the guy knows markets and business...the fact that he isnt moving away from it tells you either hes ****** and antiquated...or he believes it can still be successful....we shall see

Canelo vs Bivol will happen regardless. I just don't want it to be at 168. I want Canelo to fight Bivol at the full 175 so that Canelo detractors dont cower away that Bivol was clout chasing that he could make 168. get it? You realize Davis has ''Belts'' in 3 divisions under the WBA atm? What's wrong with Canelo fighting Bivol? Even if Canelo wasn't penalized under WBA rule to fight for Bivol's 175 belt while still holding the 168 belt, isn't that better than a LSC vs Davis scenario where the limit was 130 but included a 135 belt simulatenously? bruh..I know my boxing and the politics. Canelo vs Bivol is a better fight. I'm a notorious Canelo gangsta squad. I know Plant is good for Canelo and his accomplishment, but Bivol would beat Plant's ass...

Agreed, hope the undercard is good.

$80 for a fight is what's wrong for boxing. Surely Canelo would want his fans paying less, but the PPV is an upside. Canelo is still making his guarantee and Undisputed is important for him I guess. this is the type of fight that actually helps make Haymon money if it's not Floyd. Wilder is a lost commodity, and Spence's dentures are on notice come Pac fight. The Charlo's will end up like Caitlyn Jenner. It's in their girl-anger behavior like ''all hellls nah she funna not looking at my man..uh uh...''

i dont disagree...plant wouldnt beat either of them...i never suggested he would...thats never been the point

watching the "nothing the pbc does is ever good or right" shtick from alot of you is tiresome...and sad....its always the same stuff...yet haymon gets the fights for his guys...and some of his guys are the most recognizable US boxing stars that exist........

So is the PPV model dead for regular boxing fights or in general? I mean the UFC is still pumping out a million plus PPVs for McGregor fight, Floyd/Paul just did a million plus as well as Tyson/RJJ. It seems like only for the hardcore boxing fans is it "dead."
