Farhood and Ward are knowledgeable pros but those cards make me question their integrity and independence.

I think it is a huge conflict of interest to have network employed experts doing the unofficial scoring.
Who would they have? Experts that don't for work for the network? I'm a big fan of Farhood and Bernstein! This fight was hard to score, just like Lopez vs. Loma (and Canelo vs. Lara). Castano was trying to steal rounds, lots of action, very late in the round! You never know how that works. I control you for 2:30, and then you get a nice hook, while throwing a flurry, in the final 30 seconds, who wins the round? It worked for SRL, but it didn't work for Castano. The problem was Vasquez! If his score was 114-114, I think there would be way less controversy!

maybe it’s time to just do away with unofficial scoring. I just think too often we see scores like that.

I despise the SRL late rally BS. If a guy wins 85% of a round, I don’t give it to the other guy for a late flurry unless he scores a KD.

That Vazquez score was just putrid.

So easily I could see how a judge could find another round, to make it six! Nelson Vasquez should never be allowed to judge another fight!
              I one hundred percent agree!

Derrick James reacts to Charlo-Castano draw, says Jermell Charlo should’ve thrown more punches

In the immediate aftermath of Jermall Charlo’s hotly debated draw with Brian Castano on Saturday night, Marcos Villegas of Fight Hub TV caught up with Charlo’s trainer Derrick James to get his assessment of the fight and what went down. Check out some of James’ thoughts on the fight below.

                James on the Charlo-Castano result

“I think it was a good fight. I think that what he did was in the earlier rounds (Castano) would try to steal the end of the round...but it’s like he wasn’t landing all those shots, but he just made it look like he was landing those shots. That’s basically what I think it was.”

“Like I think (Charlo) should’ve thrown more jabs a little bit, been a little busier, but every time we threw the shots we was hurting him. I felt like ‘was it close?’, no, he was trying to steal the rounds, he really wasn’t doing anything. He really was missing all those shots but it was like for the judges behind him, made it look like he was busy and landing shots — he landed some but not as many as they thought he did.”

On Castano fighting at a slower pace than usual

“Power. Power. The power was an issue. The respect and the power was a big deal. I think when he was getting hit with them shots it was hurting him a lot too. He hurt him in the second round, he hurt him in the 9th round, in the 10th round — he hurt him a lot.”

Lol. This WBC Prez is off his rocker. No way that result was “fair”. Feel bad for Castano, and for the sport of boxing because it’s another example of how judges cheapen the hard work, dedication and skill these boxers develop and show for us fans.
