Canelo v GGG III in negotiations

Canelo does not look like the typical Native-American looking Mexican. Looks Irish, Scottish, or something. Doesn’t even look like a “Spaniard” Mexican.

It doesn’t matter what country or race you are from, it is hard to hate a resume like that. I know Canelo got haters in Mexico but South and Central America got love for him. If Mexicans want to disown him, we will take him.

Has NOTHING to do with hating cause of how he looks. My uncle, Dad's brother, is Tony the Tiger Lopez, former ibf super featherweight champ. On my mom's side, her cousin is Loretto Garza, former wba super lightweight champ. They KNOW boxing and their criticism of Saul is justified more so than most. I grew up in the gym watching them both. As for those you listed, like i said, the kid has talent, but there are more "who the fcuk is that guy" on his record as well. Theres nothing wrong with criticising a fighter. But there is when it comes to NOT criticising because fanboysim blinds you.

I think compared to Floyd Mayweather Jr he's picked tougher competition but still plays the long game which hurts his legacy but not his wallet.

It was in his best interest both legacy wise and monetary wise to fight GGG a 3rd time immediately because the 2nd fight was very competitive even though I didn't personally give him the nod, 7-5 GGG.

But he literally declined because GGG wanted the fight outside of Vegas where Canelo has less influence. This makes me think he knows he was lucky to get the W and just ran with it.

And then Canelo literally tore of his DAZN contract because they wanted him to fight GGG again, a fight he literally claimed was easy.

Yet now, Canelo vs GGG could be a thing again? Even though it's ANOTHER 3 years older? People have the same expectations for a 40 year old GGG as they do for a 30 year old Canelo. It's wild!

Boxing really bugs me because it's literally the only sport in the world where you are not required to face the best yet you can claim to be the best.

Julio Cesar Chavez doesn’t have 115 fights vs 115 top 10 P4P fighters. Roberto Duran did not fight 119 champions. Alexis Arguello’s 77-8 record was not versus 85 top 10 ranked fighters of the respective weight classes he fought them in. So yeah. Canelo has a bunch of “who the fck is that guy”. More than he has good names. But so does, like, every single boxer in the last 100+ years.

Lomachenko, in my lifetime, and as long as i’ve watched boxing, is the only fighter who actually has more wins over notable opponents than he does over “who the fck is that” type of fighters. It’s that rare.

So mentioning that Canelo has a bunch of nobodies on his resume is a weak excuse to sh.t on it. JCC’s resume is like 90% tomato cans. You can’t fight 100 times vs just killers. Your great family of boxers using that as a reason sound like a pack of hypocrites if true.

It's not about color imo, a lot of Mexicans can't stand good looking guy kicking ass. One of the reasons Oscar was hated so much, I mean Chavez is loved and he's white af too.
