Comments Thread For: Canelo Spurns Golovkin Again, Prefers To Fight Charlo

So long as he has a choice, Canelo Alvarez seems to have every intention of giving the cold shoulder to the idea of facing his bete noire Gennadiy Golovkin in a third fight. Alvarez (56-1-2, 38 KOs) was recently asked, point blank, during an interview on The DAZN Boxing Show if he would rather face the IBF middleweight champion Golovkin or the WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo.

Canelo wants all the smoke! He saw Golovkin fighting bums like Rolls and Szeremeta while won via robbery against Sergiy. He’d rather fight the guy who is in his prime and defeated Sergiy decisively.

Yea could be that.. Or more likely the fact that the whole world knows he unofficially lost to Golovkin twice, thus now he is waiting for him to be sufficiently useless in the ring until he gives us the trilogy bout we all crave, tbh though I believe he would win against Golovkin at this point and I also believe Golovkin would finally move up to 168 if he had the nelo fight signed but the bouts clearly did something to nelos ego so he cant even give a trilogy to Golovkin when he's about half of what he was in his prime... but guess we'll find out soon enough

Golovkin>Canelo when they fought but since the win over Sergey D, Golovkin has done nothing worthwhile. A fight with Andrade, Charlo or at least Munguia should've happened by now.

DAZN is in dispute with Golovkin because they want him to fight Andrade next. Doubt it happens tho and Golovkin will proceed with his tuneup fight vs Falcao

Canelo has nothing gain in a GGG rematch, he’s got money and status. GGG has neither, that man needs to go earn something then come back and talk that ****. May be too late who knows

imagine accusing someone caught with a banned substance a drug cheat, the cheek of them

ggg is old and i dont know why canelo just doesnt fight him for a big fight, surely it should be more straight forward than the first 2 fights between the 2, which i thought were both great fights and 1 all between them is more than fair i would say

I'd rather watch Canelo fight Charlo.
Charlo's next couple fights should be at 168. He's big at MW anyway.

Charlo isn’t going to fight Canelo and neither will Plant.
